Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

A little concerned Yesterday I was able to get in a lot more than I have been able to today. I have only been able to get in about 10 oz today. I feel soooooo full

I feel the exact same. I was just telling my daughter that yesterday was easier. Maybe it was still too numb yesterday and we never felt the "full" signal.

When did u have your surgery ?? Because I haven't felt the full signal .. In fact I feel the opposite .. So maybe that's normal to not feel "sooooo full" I was a little scared that the surgery didn't "work" or something

Jencovi- I'm on the same plan as you. Finally on full liquids after a week. Like I posted before, really craving solid food, which I didn't expect to happen. Have had a few bites of Beans (chewed like 50 times) and no problem. But trying to wait out and follow Dr.s orders. Have lost 10 lbs. since surgery and eighteen since pre-op Dr. Appt. Weight loss stalled last few days; freaked me out a bit. I find I wish sleeve was more restrictive, because, although I drink slow, I can get 60+ ounces down a day.

I'm having your same problem. I haven't felt much of a restriction. I can get 3 8 oz Protein Shakes, propel and my thin Soups down with no problem. I'm hoping there will be more restriction in the other stages.

I had mine Tuesday the 18th and the full feeling was this tightening at the top of my tummy. In between my boobs. It was painful n I thought the liquids were gonna reappear.

A girl in another thread was talking about this. She said she was having no problem with thin liquids. Her doctor assured her it would be different when her diet progressed and she said it was. She moved on to purée and hit a wall of always being full but still able to drink lots of Water or eat lots of broths and thin soups. Hopefully it will be the same for you guys.

That reminds me of my lapband. Lol. And usually the liquids did reappear. I haven't had this feeling yet. I am constantly hungry. But I also haven't gotten enough Protein in or been consistent with my antacids. Tomorrow I will be more on top of things. Sick cranky baby has taken all of my time and energy. Hubs has been amazing and is always willing to do whatever but you know how babies are. She wants "mama" when she's not feeling well. Lol.

I hope you are right Jen. Today my sugar also got too low so I had a 1/2 cup of applesauce as well (and sneaked a meatball!) Didn't feel full on that and afterwards had my regular broth and shake. I always start thinking did this surgery really happen or was I tricked! lol the only reason I know for certain I had surgery is that my sugar levels have been coming down consistently to the point that's pcp reduced my meds by more than half. I'm hoping to feel some kind of restriction in the near future

Are you taking your PPI acid reducer? I can't stress how important it is Bc acid mimics hunger.

Hi Ginga. SF is right about the ppi. Also are you still struggling with Protein? The more you get in the less hungry you will feel. I had mine on the 13th and every time the hunger kicks in either a bit of shake or my Pepcid helps it go away. Good luck!

This Wed the 26th is D day. Can't believe it's almost here & getting nervous!

You'll do great. Just keep reminding yourself of why you're having this done. And know that the first few days may be tough, but you WILL live and you WILL get through it and one day you WILL be so happy you did!

This morning is the start of day 2 of Clear Liquids pre-op! It was difficult yesterday, but my fiancé is helping any bit that he can! He tries to eat when I am not around, which is very helpful. Tomorrow morning is my pre-op H&P with the surgeon and anesthesia. Tuesday at 7 is my surgery! Sort of nervous but excited!

Hang in there sweety. I know how that feels and I kept thinking "what have I done". I know you are probably tired of hearing this, but it really does get better each day. The first 3 days were some if the worst I'd ever experienced and it was really hard for me to remember why I was going through everything that the surgery put me through in the hospital. Stay strong and things will get better.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
