Slightly Inappropriate/funny Nsv

Recommended Posts

Hi all:

You'll find this sorta cute I think. So.....I saw my sports medicine/pain management doctor today. First time I've seen him since about two weeks prior to the hip replacements so....about 9 weeks ago. I was in the waiting room and he called me into his office so I got up and started walking towards him. He then started walking to me and right in the middle of the waiting room, bent down and whispered in my ear....'I can't say this out loud with a room full of patients, but you look f***ing fantastic'.

I've never had a doctor use that particular word before but he and I are about the same age, and I've been seeing him for a year and a half so I know he only meant well and was giving me a huge compliment. I must admit, it's kinda nice to have an honest reaction from him rather than a 'medical assessment' so to speak. It was unexpected but it really felt good to hear it.

Of course he couldn't say u look great with a room full of patients , cause then they would wander why u r there lol , but take the compliment and run with it and if your not married then tell the doc if he's cute or handsome or whatever that you are love sick lol and maybe he can be the cure lol.

That's funny Debbie! Just so happens he is a very good looking man. I'm single, but he's very much married. But I have to say, as a woman, it was very much of an ego booster regardless.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
