Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

I have to admit, I had never seen it. DH was watching it on the "Movie Classics" channel a week or two ago and I saw part of it. Never was a big Brando fan.

Maybe if you were a God Loving Christian instead of a God fearing Christian you would love your neighbor as you love thyself as Jesus commanded.

And when you get to Heaven if the Lord decides to bestow that on to you, will you still be heterosexual? Will you still be Conservative? Will I still be Liberal? Will you Love me?

Wow.

I loved the God Loving Christian party! Great post.

Same coin different side is the Bible verse that says for us to seek our "your own salvation with fear and trembling". I think moreso to be seriously intense about the subject. I am also of the understanding from the reading that to base faith on the Bible and then be gay is an oxymoron.

Now back on topic. Rants and Raves are just that. I don't think you are confined to a preconceived category to rant or rave. It invites raw emotion, post away. You know what they say? If you don't think you will like what you read, DON'T READ IT.

Im a straight liberal atheist. I did however have a very long relationship with a woman in my teenage years. we even lived together for almost a year. She is a wonderful person and someone whom with I learned alot about life from. Never regret it for a moment. As far as that cartoon goes in the first post. looks like fun, maybe if I wasn't such a fatty I could get into that position. Hmmmmm, think I have just now changed my main goal to be in that position instead of getting healthy. Thanks, you really straightened me out -no pun intended. puh-lease what an idiot this first poster is.

I'm just curious why we have to change the subject? This post was made in LBT rants and raves and clearly says off topic debate area. Why can't we start another thread about movie quotes in another area. That way people who want to debate this topic can as long as they follow the rules. And if people are offended by the topic they can just not come in here. I will probably get burned at the stake for saying that but I think this topic was posted in the appropriate place. Speaking of things I am pondering? Is the person that posted the original topic in this thread cowardly? Maybe they posted and I didn't read that and if so I apologize. man enough to say it, be man enough to own it.

I think the thread starter wanted to see the Liberals, atheists and Gays losing their cool and flaming him so that he could feel superior to them (us).

He was wrong. The majority of Liberals, atheists and Gays, and of Conservative, Christians, Jews, Catholics, Muslims, straights and Bisexuals at LBT are too level headed to fall for a ploy like that IMNSHO.

He wanted us to flame, but he gave us a chance to shine.

Sorry, you ever get revved up about something and think of something else you wanted to say but didn't???

anyways, why does it seem like the athiest posts I read talk more about "to each their own" and the only intolerance ie: hatred I seem to read is from "religious" people. Is that what they teach you in church? Again, if I have mis-read something or missed anything as I do not claim to have read EVERY single message on this board I do apologize. Keep in mind that I said "it seems like".

the fact that someone tried to take a shot at the expense of others and the board was turned around and made light of was our own way of ranting and raving.

To each their own, right?

I think some people just plain become uncomfortable when being faced with their own behaviors. Even if someone else writes something that they typically say, they will jump in and make the moment easier by changing the subject.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
