Down a pound this week. Ready for mom's good cooking and Christmas "cheer" ????next week. Bring on the carbs and calories!

Edit 12/21. I had to go into work for an emergency tonight so I decided to weigh one last time before heading out of town. Hit an all time low of 136! I have no doubt it won't last with the upcoming holiday feeding frenzy, but it gives me an extra 3500 calories worth of guilt-free eggnog to work with ????

No change this week. I guess I'm just going to fluctuate between 167-169 and I'm TOTALLY fine with that!!! ???? Never in a million years did I think I would be wearing a size Large top and 10-12 pants after 1 year of surgery!!! God is good!

I gained a few pounds, unexpectedly, but my pants are loose. Not sure what's going on.

Returned a pair of 34 pants and replaced with 33 Slim. Very strange to need a slim ...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!
