Surg date set for Tuesday dec 10 2013

My doc believes I can reach the 150s but I think that's a "fat chance" - no pun intended lol

I'm currently 238-239 pounds at 5'7". My lowest adult weight was 180 and many people thought I was around 160 because I was so toned (lots of kickboxing and portion controlled eating helped me out with that physique 11 years ago) I recently lost 20 pounds on my own since October 2013 and so happy about that. I'll miss my spin classes while I recover but can't wait to get back into my fitness routine.

I think a realistic healthy weight range for my large frame would be around 170-178 so that's my personal goal. So about a 65-70 pound loss. A healthy or normal BMI indicates I should fall between 138-160 which I believe is too unrealistic. Don't even think I weighed that in highschool, lol

Looks like my original surg date of dec 10 will be delayed unfortunately -- during my clearance appointment today my primary informed me to have a sleep study done... Uuhhhh I was so banking on dec 10 now I have no clue. I'm still keeping my hopes high that all this is taken care Of quickly with pulmonary specialist, my primary and my surgeon's office. Wish I would have known earlier tho. All my other tests are perfectly OK but my primary has seen some unfortunate ICU cases in the past which prompts her to make me do the study. I guess i would rather be safe than sorry.

Awesome idea. I'll send you a PM so you can add me. Actually, I can't figure out how to PM, so I'll just post it here. I hope to lose 100 pounds. Anyone know how to adjust the tickers? I got weighed today at the nut and lost 13 pounds.

I've got you down Idlewood. I believe (and someone may have to correct me), if you go in and edit your weight on your profile, it will automatically change your ticker. I will have to check that though, but you might try it.

Yep, I just tried it. If you go into Edit Profile, and Member Information, and change your current weight there, it will change it automatically on your ticker!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
