Reward Yourself! What's Yours?

Recommended Posts

I have said from the beginning, when I lost 200 pounds I wanted a major reward for all my hard work. I've actually lost over 230 pounds now and finally found my reward to myself. A ring.

I have wanted a Peridot ring forever. Plus, I feel like every time I look down at my ring, it's reminder not only how far I've come but to stay on track so I never go back to that miserable state again.

So, my question is, what's your reward? It doesn't matter how big or small it is. I've had many other small ones along the way and I've love to hear yours. What do you reward yourself with instead of food?

Lovely ring! What a great reminder of the way you are taking care of yourself. You've got me thinking about a reward of some kind; that will be fun to mull over in the coming months. The band is definitely a gift to myself, that's for sure.

Beautiful! I have a peridot ring my mom gave to me long ago. Its too big, but I don't want to size it down yet until I'm "done" with my weight loss.

While I haven't settle on a prize yet...funny enough...I've been eyeing some beautiful rings...they are one thing I want to wait on because I know my ring finger size will change. The more weight I lose the more excited I get about wearing jewelry.

I never used to wear rings, necklaces or bracelets...It might be because before I felt like it drew too much attention to me.

Now I'm like, "Hey...check me out with my jewelry bling." ha ha ha... ;)

My reward has been to shop and enjoy it.. haven;t done that in many years.. used to just walk out of the stores in tears.. I love jewelry too and your ring Missy is really beautiful... I may have to hit my husband up for something sparkly... I have more to go before my goal but I am rewarded everyday by my improved health..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
