Ready to get started

Recommended Posts

I start my insurance required weight loss program in 2 weeks. My insurance requires a 3 month weight management. I'm so ready to finally get started doing something!

We recently moved into a house, I took it upon myself to mow the lawn today, good lord! I thought I would die! Sad part is the yard is very small... My legs felt like Jello and my thighs also felt like they where on fire when I got done. I had to stop several times to catch my breath. I was breathing so hard my throat was on fire, felt like it was burning as I sucked air in and out!

I'm so tired of being this out of shape and everyday task hurting. Really to get moving to my new lease on life!

Have a great weekend everyone!

lol. You have a great sense of humor. I was rofl, probably because it sounded just like me. I wouldn't even attempt that one. I would have died.

Well after surgery you could open your own lawn company. You will have the energy to mow 100 lawns!

I understand the being tired and mowing the yard. I must say that I don't have the exact story but I hate that I have to take several breathes and reve up my engine to go up and down...

Before surgery I had to cut my grass in stages - mow a little, rest a little (or a lot), sometimes over a couple days. My yard is 1 1/2 acres w/about an acre of grass and 675 feet of street frontage w/more grass (it's a corner lot). It takes two hours to mow w/a push mower. Now I can mow the whole thing (with short breaks every 1/2 hour to drink water), do some gardening, play w/the dogs, clean house, cook dinner, walk the dogs... and STILL have energy to do whatever else I want. I have my life back. :-)

There certainly is! In addition to increased energy, my back pain, knee pain, and foot pain is gone. All this in four months! :-)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
