Frustrated with the stall

I'm so frickin frustrated with the stall. It's been 6 days now and I not only stalled, but gained 1 1/2 pounds. I'm a week and a half into the pureed foods stage, and start soft foods this coming week. I had my 2 week post op last Tuesday the 29th and my NUT suggested I use the myfitness app to track my Protein and liquid consumption, so I've been logging everything (including water) and found that my protein consumption was lacking, I'm supposed to have 64-80 grams of protein per day and 8 glasses of Water a day. I'm walking 3.5 miles a day. Hopefully, this damn stall period is short lived. :wacko:

Everyone goes through stalls, it's totally normal. The gain can be anything from Water retention to TOM or even muscle. Hang in there and keep tracking, you'll get there :)

I know it is frustrating, but this will pass. Focus on those liquids!!!

It will pass. Just follow your doctors guidelines & the lbs will start dropping like crazy. It's still early for you & your body still has some of that junk that they pumped in you for the surgery. stay patient & just watch what happens. Good luck!!!

A normal weight loss pattern is not a sloping line. It actually looks more like stair steps. So there's really no such thing as a stall, you're just on a stair. Hang in there.

Get ready to get new clothes, man. I suggest going to thrift stores and garage sales. Don't throw green down on threads that won't do you a fair amount of duty. Wait until 210 to get the glad rags. :)

Your goal is what I passed a few months ago. I am now 208. I was stalled at 210 for about 4 months and didn't think it would go any further.

You will get there. 210 is a great place to be. I saw after about a month after the operation that the scale was a poor indicator of what was going on. My clothes kept outgrowing me while the scale was oblivious to change. I continued to weigh myself but only for curiosity's sake, I got the picture about the trend....down, up, same, up, down, same, etc. A roller coaster track but always in the long run going down.

Follow the guidelines, exercise like an athlete in training, down you go. Gman's guarantee! :)

I really needed this today! I was losing until last Sat., then it was up a pound, down a pound and up and down and it's so frustrating! I was thinking I was doing something wrong! But I'm just trying too hard and expecting too much, too soon. Thank you all for being there with your hard learned wisdom!!!

Of the 90 days since surgery, I've been stalled for at least 39 of those. It just drops for a while, and then it stops, and then it starts again. I keep doing the same thing, and my body decides when to let go and when to hold. We can't control the rate of loss. We can only control whether or not we stick to the plan so keep at it and determine success not on weight loss, but on how well you're following your plan.

I was actually just gonna search for something exactly like this thread! Siiigggghhh you guys ROCK! Losing weight is such an uphill battle that we are fighting everyday! Super frustrating but wouldn't have it any other way. Man do I ever love this thing called the sleeve. As well as this godsend of a forum.....thank you all!

I LOVE THIS!! I will never say I am in a stall again. I am just hanging out on a stair.

I'm preparing to donate all of my large Wardrobe to Goodwill or Salvation Army. As for the stall I"ll ride it out. :)

I cannot tell you how much I needed to hear this! I have completed my 4th month and have been stalled for over 30 days. My clothes are getting bigger but I have been teetering between 201 and 199. I think I handle the scale very well but it is starting to get in my head so I came on here and searched stalls. I knew about the week 3 stall and needed to see if anyone else had gone through a big stall at this stage. I track everything in MFP and have started exercising some but started to doubt myself. I don't mind losing slow because I feel it is better for my skin but I have had about enough of this!

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
