I have also been struggling- I just confessed on the confession thread a few days ago- it actually has helped me! I realized something had triggered my regression. It was a multitude of very emotional things over the month of June. I didn't realize that I wasn't handling things well and everything wasn't bad stuff.... I have decided to forgive myself first- and take one day at a time! Today try to avoid the junk food' date=' make sure you get your Protein and Water in! Just focus on one day- I am on my second day of trying to just avoid the junk food and I am happy that I did it yesterday! Stay in touch! We need each other![/quote']

Me too im on my 2nd day too but im at work so this is the true test

I'm glad I found this thread. I realized that I am an addict. Not drugs or cigarettes but food, something that one cannot abstain from. My work environment is hell for a food addict. They bring Cookies and candies and cakes and that's not including the pot lucks. I am stalling and realized I started eating things I wasn't before. I'm going to make a choice now to beat this demon. I am going to the grocery store and only going to buy meat and vegetables and a little fruit, nuts and low fat dairy for Snacks. I can and WILL do this. So you are not alone....

Yes I do 3 meals 2 Snacks. And lots of water! My problem was the snacking increased :(. I had more time to snack because my back injury limited my exercise plan. To be honest, I also got kind of depressed that I was in pain too. I've got to work on that emotional eating thing.

My meal plan tomorrow will be something like this: 2 hard boiled egg whites only and half Protein shake for Breakfast, half an apple or some carrots with low cal ranch for mid morning snack. Homemade 4oz turkey chili with reduced fat sour cream for lunch, mini babybel light cheese and about 6 almonds for snack , 2 to 3 oz chicken breast with about 2 oz of green Beans for dinner.

I mix it all up and do different but similar meals every day. When I stick to the pan and can exercise, the weight comes off with no problems....

I think the amount you consume depends on how far out you are from surgery. I personally feel you must remove the triggers to get some kind of control. If you are truly hungry feed your body some type of protein- I have tried drinking skim milk and waiting to see if that helps. 3 meals is what my NUT told me to aim for- since grazing will lead to weight gain. As you can tell that hasn't been what I've done lately! On a good day a Protein shake made with milk for breakfast- lunch about 2oz chicken breast chopped up in lettuce Tomato carrots, with regular salad dressing- dinner 3oz pork chop with green Beans and about 1/4c of mashed pot. If hungry in between some Greek yogurt! I think I feel hungry when I am truly just thirsty... I have read that if you have all of your Protein in for the day and you still feel hungry, drinking something will help. Be prepared have high protein food in your house. So when you go for something it will satisfy you longer. The sugar craving are getting better for me with each day I avoid them!

Hi, how far out from surgery are you? Addictions are terrible however they can be overcome! We can do this together! If I fail today that doesn't mean I will fail tomorrow! I am trying hard to take it one day at a time! I will not be a slave to food!

Congratulations on making it a few days. Lately with the cooler weather coming, I forget to drink Water. The thirst and hunger mechanisms feel the same. I have to watch myself, because when I think I am hungry, I am really thirsty.

I can eat more tan the two ounces but I try not to because I can feel overly full. I feel like I am stretching my poor little pouch so I'm going back to measuring. Also I drink a full 8 oz of Water 30 min before I eat. That helps with my Portion Control. Good luck Hun!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
