3 month pre-op diet and bit scared

Recommended Posts

Had my first group nutrition meeting. I'm feeling both excited and fearful of failure. I started my diet today with THE naaaaaaaaastiest Protein Drink ever, I'm sure. BUT, it had 20 grams of Protein and for the first time in months, I'm not experiencing my nightly hunger cycle. Just gotta get over this fear of not losing b4 surgery .

Many good places that sell Protein powders have sample packs. I use (and still like) unjury.

Little changes that you can make will add up to big results!

Before surgery...

Stop smoking,

up your daily Water,

up your activity (as you can)

and eat on your plan (whatever that it)

reduce caffine

reduce carbonated drinks

and have fun learning!

I have been scanning through the various posts like crazy as I have been contemplating WLS. I am so grateful to everyone for sharing their personal info. I have my 1st appt w/ my Bari-nutritionist next week & I'm very interested to find out more info.

Many people have posted about "Unjury" Protein Powder. Is this product purchased @ GNC/various stores or on-line?

Many people have stated that Green Tea has been good. I love green tea iced! Again, thank you for sharing.

I believe that injury is only sold online. They do have a sample pack you can order. I personally didn't care for it at all but many like it. My absolute favorite is Optimum Nutrition. I order it online from Amazon but you can get it at GNC. I pay $54 for a 5 lb tub. They have many flavors, I just ordered chocolate coconut. Can't wait to try it. It has no Protein taste whatsoever!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
