the fat fills in the wrinkles?

Recommended Posts

I want to preface this by saying I really don't care, I'm just curious.

I've always wondered, when you lose the weight, do you tend to look older? I've found that many "overweight" people that I know, including myself, seem to have less wrinkles. I'm looking forward to a healthier me so that I can have my hernia fixed, so whatever happens, happens.

So, what happens?

I feel like I see that look most often in bypass patients not sleeve. I did notice a new furrow in my brow the other day though. It may be time to start getting some fillers.

I notice that By pass patients have that sunken look. They look much older and I think it has a lot to do with how they lose weight as opposed to they way sleevers lose weight.

I am only 34 and the wrinkle situation isn't a think for me yet. But I have been told I look younger and healthier and brighter.

I think you are going to do just fine and look 15 years younger!

I am not liking the sagging face I have.. I like it better then being 100 lbs heavier but the face and the arms are bothering me a lot. I am 56 so I guess my skin isnt going to bounce back as well.. I will see what it does in the next 6 - 9 months.. I may be getting some procedures done late next year..

I have discovered the tool of selective memory. I look into the mirror to do my necessaries but immediately forget how I looked.

The fellow looking out these eyes has nothing to do with that wrinkled face. I conduct myself like the fresh, lean and mean stud-muffin that I feel like. B)

Can't remember where I saw it -- it may or may not have been a VST member --- but she posted before and after pics of close up of just her eyes, and it looked like she had had an eye lift! Her before made her eyes look puffy saggy & older, and her after was awesome -- like her bright shining eyes were now SO BIG!

I'm hoping for that effect . . . .

I saw that too! I think it was on the Queen of Crop blog (which was wonderful by the way).

Yep that must have been it -- because I was an avid reader of Queen of Crop!!! :)

Found it! :D

And I'm passing link along to anyone that is interested in her blog -- it is a fantastic story of her journey. She's awesome! Here's the entry that talks about changes she noticed at 7 months post surgery: http://www.queenofcrop.com/archives/2012/05/

I think I look older but unsolicited feedback from friends is that I look 15 years younger. I think my dismorphia is about my face. I have a theory...obesity was to a large extent hiding behind the fat. I think i am still getting used to seeing the real me at 49...not sometime from my 20s....but the real me now.

Dont laugh but when I started dating the hardest thing for me to get over was just how OLD looking men my age are. They werent like that last time I dated in the late 1990s...haha

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
