DOS 10-9-13--- down 34 pounds!

Hello my fellow sleevers! quick question, I went on my first walk today since surgery!! As some of you know I didnt have the greatest few weeks after surg. Anyhoo while walking I started having some pretty bad dizzy spells. There was one time I thought I was gonna have to sit down. I'm eating now and holding most everything down (sometimes I will spit up some slimy yukky junk and it's very small) and taking my Vitanins just fine, and also drinking plenty of fluids. Anyone else have this issue? I don't want to stop walking now that I have done it and I'm one if those wired people who actually like exercising. I checked my BP and sugar and they both are fine. I'm going to call my Dr tomorrow to let them know, but I thought I'd pick your brains first.

You should keep some G2 Gatorade with you when you are walking..it will keep you hydrated....It also helps with the thirst.

I mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Water and carry it where ever I go!

Yeah you probably need to talk to your dr just to make sure. My first thought was if you were getting in your fluids but you said you are. I hope you feel better soon! (Those slimes are Gross! It will stop soon!)

Feel better and give us and update after you talk to your dr.

Did you do those blood sugar and BP checks while you were actually dizzy, or after? I'm betting it's low BP. The reason I say that is BP can vary quite a bit within minutes, but blood sugar takes longer to change. Jean Z

you are only 20days post op, your body has been through a LOT, Take it easy. When I get dizzy it has been dehydration. Good Luck, and take it easy.

I'm 4 months out and get dizzy at times still. When it happens, for me it is usually because I have not had enough to drink. After I get in another say 24 ounces, the dizziness goes away. I also have REALLY low BP, not that I am complaining but I think this has something to do with it too. I have appt in December with DR and will ask again about dizziness. Like I said once I drink some more Water, it goes away. Good luck checking with your DR.

I had my surgery on 10/1. I get dizzy on and off throughout the day still but is usually when I stand up or if I'm doing an active walk, so I think mine is BP related. When I check my BS mine is usually 109. I am still not eating very much (maybe 4 oz a day of cottage cheese or pureed tuna or mashed potatoes) and drinking is hard for me too. I can drink about 40 oz if I dont eat at all really and forget my Proteins... I get sick as a dog with the fake ones. I am still finding balance. I had a kidney infection after that wouldn't clear and had to get IV medicine for it and my pulse is averaging at about 40-50 since surgery so I'm on a heart monitor. My doctors are great and staying on top of my health and trying to figure out what is going on.

Good luck to you. I hope it resolves for you soon!

Both my husband and I had that happen a lot initially. We couldn't even stand up out of our chairs without getting dizzy. And then it stopped, I'd say around the 6 week mark. I really thnk it's the very low calories initially and until our bodies get used to it, they want to pass out from time to time :)

I took my BS when I got back home approx. 40 minutes after I started walking. My BP I took before and after walking. My BP has been wonderful since I woke up from surgery! Loving That. Yeah I know BS take some time to adjust so I went ahead and finished walking and took it when I got home, it was 99. BP 120/73 I will let you know what the Doc says! Thanks!

So only thing we had in common was surgery date and food and Water intake. The culprit seemed pretty clear to me.

Oh goodness. Yes please stay on top of it! This is a big surgery and I think most of us want to hit the road running. I have to tell my self that I just had surgery and I need to give my body the time it needs to recoup. I'm sorry you are having all these issues. I didn't have the greatest 2 weeks after surg. I couldn't keep anything down including Water. I was regretting my surgery but now I am truly happy I did it. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Hang in there! I can't believe Im saying this but it DOES get better! God Bless

My first walk was way too far, down the street to the park. Then I had to come back! How about backing off on the distance and doing it more frequently?

Keep up the good work!

I used to get dizzy too. Don't press yourself to hard. Take it easy and work your way up. Good job for getting that exercise in! :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
