It ain't so! I eat it all the time. I'm almost 8 months post op. You have to watch it though...it's easy to overeat it.

Forever? I read somewhere here that it was cleared after 8 weeks or so? I'm not 6 weeks yet, still on soft foods

Everyone tolerates foods differently, but I'm almost 4 months out and eat popcorn on occasion with no problem...except for kernels getting stuck in my teeth :)

It is a slider food for me :( but it has not stopped me from eating it...It could make the last 36 lbs. harder to get to..lol

I enjoy popcorn when I go to the movies. I make mine at home in my air popper, spray some olive oil on it and sprinkle flavoring on it. It isn't nearly as bad as movie theatre popcorn and just as yummy.

Nearly as bad....That is giving to much credit to movie popcorn..Have you ever looked up what is really in that butter that they put on it...That stuff can kill you..

You are one smart lady to make your own...good for you!

It ain't so. I just had a single serving bag of microwave popcorn, more than enough to fill me up. 160 cals/bag. :D

I eat it every couple of weeks. I do notice that my weight doesnt move as much when I eat it several nights in a row but my weight doesnt go up. It is nice to be able to go to the movies and have a little now and then. It was difficult during the first few months when I wasnt able to eat it when we would go to the movies. Just dont rush things, only eat things when your nut and dr say you can and you will do just fine and eating popcorn before you know it!

For anyone who likes cheese popcorn, Unjury has a Protein cheese powder. I take some pop corn and put it in a baggy with the cheese powder and shake it up. Gives you some protein with the snack.< /p>

There was a looong pretty dramatic thread about popcorn recently, lol... Almost made me want to eat popcorn while I was reading it! Not something I would want to give up but will definitely not be eating it until I have least a couple of months of healing behind me... Nuts, which are also a favorite, we also have to wait a while for. Just won't have copious amounts of either.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
