Too funny. I have had the same thing lately.(I have lost 110lbs) One of my gf who had not seen me in over a year thought I was a total stranger. My MOM walked past me in a bathroom as I washed my hands. Lol.

You look fabulous. Keep up the great job!

I have the same thing happening to me, it's so amazing that my pastor only recognized my face and made me stand up in church and told everyone how amazing I look. I felt so good.????

My co- workers only recognizes my voice.

I love this thread! Just the other day at work I was mistaken for someone that is very little (short and thin) . That made my whole day!

For the last few weeks, my husband has sat in the car and looked right at me waiting for him to drive up and pick me up. I wave, and he startles a little. He just doesn't see me. He calls me "Slimbo" now, which I think is sweet ( and much nicer than "bimbo"). Hahaha. I'm down 51!

Omg the same thing happens to me. My work best friend walked past me three times. I had to tap her on the shoulder and poke her. It takes a while for folks to catch up with the new you especially when you loose over 100 lbs. I feel the same but you really are a new person.

Slimbo! LOVE IT!! :) go us!!

Yesterday he told me he thought maybe he was cheating on his wife with me. I asked him if that was weird and he replied "it's really awesome". By husband is THE BEST!

Thank you!! I feel AMAZING!! I sure wish I would have done this for myself years and years ago. We all deserve to look in the mirror and be happy with what we see. There's nothing like it. :)

Nice. My husband always knows the right thing to say, too. :) I'm pre-op still, but I know when he says he's really excited for me, he really means he's excited for himself. He's a sweet fella

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
