How about those small egg mixtures you put into muffin tins

Maybe, as it appears to be a trend that people who transition from full liquids to pureed and from pureed to real food get smacked in the chest with GERD.. some advice and recipe ideas that are a little easier on the gastric function/intestinal motility whilst having some flavour and hit the Protein requirements? That would be very cool indeed! :)

I'm really big on lentils, black Beans, and garbanzo beans. Do you have any recipes that use those? I'm getting tired of the same old recipe I've been using.

Plus any tips to speed up the bean cooking process would be helpful. Right now it takes about 2 hrs to cook the beans.

I LOVE beans - we are working on a few recipes for baked goods using them as a substitute for flour! There's also one coming up with an easy crock-pot recipe for beans. I make them at least once a week, sometimes twice and eat on them all week long.

Pressure cooker works great. It allows the Water to get hotter than 212 degrees F, which cooks those bad boys in no time. Less than 20 minutes. Just be sure you know how to use a pressure cooker. I use mine all the time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
