Hello everyone. It has been a while. I was sleeved on 8/13/2013 and my starting weight was 243. Today I weigh 209. I have lost a total of 34lbs as of today. I am pretty happy with my progress so far. I am having a terribly hard time getting my Fluid and Proteins in but I am getting by. My best friend who is now married to my brother so I guess she is my sister-in-law now (I got them two together lol) just had their baby friday 10/11/13!! So incredibly proud and tired. Lol we all live together so I am helping with my nephew a lot so my nutrition is going down the drain. I have lost 5lbs since he was born. Lol

Congrats! I was sleeved the same day, close to the same weight and have lost 27... seems a bit slow to me. Can you tell me what you try to keep your numbers at: Cals per day? Do you count carbs? Do you exercise? Im just trying to figure out how to make it move a little faster. Thanks!

I don't count calories or carbs or anything. I just try to eat meat to have Protein but I just really don't eat much of anything. I was walking everyday and started doing push ups and sit ups. I have found I do better if I eat mostly meat throughout the day. And I really only drink Water or apple juice. I am not really doing anything else though. I ned to but with a new baby it is very hard.

I try to focus on Protein - beef chicken eggs cottage cheese. And I've been walking although not religiously... I guess Im just destined to be slow! :)

I think slow is good though. Maybe our skin will be able to keep up with out weight loss! :) slow and steady wins the race. As long as we are losing we are good.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
