I'm 9 weeks out. Just a lil afraid I'm able to eat a lil more than most ppl. I'm able to eat two eggs in the morning for Breakfast ( I don't I eat one) but just thinking maybe my sleeve is bigger or am I stretching it? Also I could take gulps of Water rather than sips?

Im 12 days out and same thing. I think you feel like you can eat more because its soft food moving through you pretty fast. I can eat 2 soft boil eggs but can't barely eat one hard boiled yoke. Regular food I have tried, its a few bites thats it but can eat whole can of Tomato Soup. Sleeves at any size aren't that big and my doctor said stretching the sleeve is a myth to some degree.

Eat slowly, chew well. (note to self lol) :)

I was wondering about this as well. I am a week and a half out. I have no issues with eating unless I eat too fast. I am on puréed/soft foods. Today I ate a Meximelt from Taco Bell and was able to eat the entire thing with no issue. I waited 30 minutes and was also able to drink an entire glass of Water. I am worried that the further out I get, it will not work. Today I ate 900 calories. I have been at the 550 mark.

Wow! I'm starting week 5 today and am just now able to reach 700 calories. I can eat very, very little at a time. I really need to learn to eat more slowly so that extreme feeling of fullness doesn't hit me so quickly!

I'm 9 weeks out. I can drink Water fairly normally. Not really a gulp, but not sipping, either. About 2-3 oz. of food fills me up, particularly if it is Protein like chicken or meat. I can handle about 4 oz. of softer Proteins like Beans or tofu but then I'm stuffed. I still eat mostly protein, a tiny bit of cooked veg (I rarely have enough room for it after my protein), a Protein Shake every day, and the occasional glass of milk before bedtime if I need a protein boost at the end of the day. I also snack on 15-20 grams of nuts nearly every day.

I order them without the salsa. I eat the remainder, shell and all. It all goes down really easily. 220 calories and 14 grams of Protein. My doc told me to aim for 350 calories and 20 grams of protein per meal. That is the closet thing I have found that I can get down.

Can't you just take a tortilla shell and melt some cheese on it?

I'm not sure what a "meximelt" is exactly but..

At a week and a half out it sounds like it would not be a good choice for your healing sleeve!

I wouldn't worry this soon out about trying to hit 900 (or even 500) calories ESPECIALLY it you have to eat crap (and dangerous) food.< /p>

It's simply meat' date=' cheese, and a tortilla. It's not dangerous. I'm able to eat soft foods so[/quote']

You are cleared for this???

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
