For those of you who like Tuna Fish

Recommended Posts

The other day i was standing in the kitchen looking for something to eat. I had a can of tuna packed in Water so i thought hmmm what can i make with it besides a boring tuna fish sammy. So i took the can of tuna drained it and put it in a bowl. To it i added some chopped onion, some miracle whip, some mrs.dash garlic and herb seasoning, and some BROCCOLI SLAW.......YUMMMMMMMMY. That stuff is the BEST stuff ive ever had. I mixed it all together, and i ate it with some tortilla chip scoops. It was soooooo yummy. So if any of you can tollerate all of that, you should try it, it is super de duper yummy. I hope i can tolerate it once banded. Try it and let me know what you guys think!!!!!

I love tuna. And mustard. I bet that would be good with mustard too. Broccoli slaw is in the same place that the bagged spinach (EEK) and bagged salad is in.

Here's my fav for tuna:

Mix good quality white albacore with Mayonnaise, diced red onion, vinegar, and white Beans. Season with rosemary and tarragon (in very small amounts), salt and pepper to taste. Top with some crumbled, imported Greek feta (or Bulgarian, but not French - too soft IMO).

Eat as is, or on baked pita chips. Or heat in a pan as a "patty".

Hey broccoli slaw is just shredded broccoli, carrots, and cabbage. Its like regular cole slaw, only with broccoli. Its much more crispier then regular cole slaw, and it tastes MUCH MUCH better. One of my fav foods now!!!!!!

I'm going to try that out (cooked patties) tonight for dinner tomorrow night and Monday night and tuesday night....LOL. What do you reccomend for good albacore? Is canned okay? Or the pouch?

I love tuna... this is how I make mine.

I usually eat it with crackers (Ritz) or in my salad.

tuna - chunk light or white (rinsed and drained very well)

Hellmanns mayo (aka BestFoods) http://www.mayo.com/

Chopped very very fine: onions, celery and carrots

Chopped apple

I tried the recipe that I said I was going to earlier, and it is DELICIOUS! I took two pouches of albacore tuna, one can of canellini Beans which I smushed half of it, some low-fat mayo and seasonings. Then I made 2 oz patties and froze them. Now I just take one out, let it defrost for 1/2 hour and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes....YUMMO!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
