What does PB stand for?

Recommended Posts

I have seen people state that they have PB'd. Is this where something gets stuck?

I have recently had a very unpleasant feeling when I forgot to chew properly and had a feeling of something being stuck for a minute or so, very painful. Thank God it passed fairly quickly.

PB is a productive burp. As it produces the food you just ate.

It's not the same as being stuck- stuck is that icky feeling of a golf ball.

Being stuck can lead to a productive burp. When I'm stuck, I get PB a few times before getting relief.

Its like when a baby spits up, can't control it, it comes up whether you want it to or not.

If you get stuck in a restaurant, be prepared to run to the restroom or have a few napkins.

ps. I carry plastic grocery bags in my car, when I'm forced to eat and drive.

I try very hard not to get into the situation of driving and eating. Not pretty, lol

I have a few of those blue puke bag things from the hospital just in case. One at home, one in the car and one in my purse. :-)

One time I had to sprint to the restroom at a restaurant and Lo and Behold, a line....I literally slammed into the men's room and spit up. Soooo not fun.

I have had only 1 episode in the last 6+ months and I'm happy to leave it that! I was at home, but after a stressful day and the security tech asking me asinine questions while I was eating I swallowed a piece of pork and boy oh boy it was NOT pretty, but after hearing me get sick in the bathroom he didn't have any more dumb questions!! :P

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
