Night Cough

Recommended Posts

I have just had my 3rd fill (Monday) all is well drinking and eating must admit have been sticking to mushiness. I am loving the feeling of not being hungry and my calories have dropped to around 600 - 700 but I have had one big problem I have developed a night cough and when I lie down I am getting reflux does anyone have advise, also I am feeling as if I could have flu so I am wondering if the cough and band fill is even related.

You should talk with your doctor, but my feeling is, if the cough is a flu symptom, it would happen while you're in the upright position as well. I certainly know the reflux cough.....it's no fun.

Definitely talk with your doctor. If this continues, you may need a slight un-fill. If you didn't have reflux prior to the fill, you may be a little too tight.

If you do have the flu then the cough would make since but a night cough is something I get only if I eat too close to bed time and/or my band is too tight?? I would make a call to your surgeon if your able to eat and drink normaly there may not be a problem! Best Wishes!

Yes give your doctor a call. Night cough and reflux are very common signs of a band too tight. A tiny amount removed, even as small .1cc, could potentially take care of the problem while allowing you to stay in the Green Zone.

I had a bad respiratory infection and I was coughing quite a lot day and night. I pushed my fill date back by a couple of weeks at the advice of my PCP who said that having that type of infection could make my band feel tighter even without adding more fill to it.

Might be worth having a bit removed until you are feeling 100% better and then if it's not green for you then put some back in.

Hope you Feel better soon!!!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
