Hi there! Newbie here and not real sure how this works. I had band placement surgery on 9/30/13. So far I feel great except for a little soreness at my port incision and ab soreness when I move certain ways. I am so over the liquid diet but have to stay on it until 10/30. I have my first fill scheduled on 11/11 and I can't wait to get this band working. On my first visit to the Sarasota memorial hospital comprehensive bariatric program I was 290#. At the time of surgery I was 284#. Now at the 15 day post surgery mark I'm at 264#.

Not sure what else to say here right now but this seems like a cool way to hear about others experiences with the band at about the same placement time.

Welcome! Congrats on your surgery. It sounds like you are doing well so far. The liquid diet is tough, but you will be glad you stuck with it in the end!

Hi, thank you so much for asking, very thoughtful.

I feel great physically, but really struggling with the liquid diet at this point though. I have broken the rules a few times with things like crackers, cheese, and a little bit of deli lunch meat just because I needed something else. I have one more week of full liquids and then surgeon wants me on solids for a couple of weeks before I get first fill on 11/11. I can't wait for that, I really want to get this band in action and start losing lbs. I also look forward to getting back to tennis in another week which is something that I enjoy.

Have a great day!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
