I think I'm doing pretty remarkable considering I lost 41 pounds in 4 weeks! My nutritionist works with my surgeon so I don't think talking to her would change anything since they are the ones who make the diet sheet up! I will apologize, but I truly trust our surgeon 100% and I have talked to many of his patients who several years later are doing amazing!!! I have no doubts at all about him or his decisions. Thank y'all though for you concern. best of luck on everyone's journey! Also thank you for your wishes

Tina727 is doing great. The doctors plan is great. He has done over 5000 surgeries and knows what he is doing. He focuses first on healing you and your pouch. He then wants you to focus on smart choices and nutrition without stressing out too much about counting. With this doctor and his plan I have lost 80 pounds in less than 5 months and my husband has lost over 100 in 6 months. After care is wonderful as well. Our levels are all great. And no complications. Nice work Tina!

Thank you very much for your post! I was wondering of I should start doubting myself! Really... You said the words better than I could come up with! Explained it perfectly! I really don't understand where everyone else is coming from.. I'm happy with Dr. Graber and the entire team!

Thank you! Congrats on you and your husbands progress! May I ask where your from? Not too many people on here are local.

You're welcome. His focus is in real life and rest of your life eating. Carbs are a necessity for body functioning. Too much is the problem. Be smart, focus on Protein and healthy choices and you will be fine. A cracker or two will not derail you. Going to extremes got us into this in the first place and exactly what Graber is wanting us to avoid. Everyone's doctor is different too by the way. For example, there are many on here that eat Soup and drink Protein shakes...things we are discouraged from doing. Focus on the directions you are given and you'll be fine.

And to answer your question, I live in the Syracuse area. Good luck! You're doing great.

my wife and I are from Baldwinsville, we did live in Eastwood a couple years ago, but our daughter has special needs so we needed to move to the suburbs. It isn't all that bad I suppose lol How far out are you and your husband?

haven't went to any support groups yet.. Our surgery was the 19th and didn't leave the hospital till a week later cause my wife had an internal GI bleed. Started at 316 and I'm down to 254.... I'm down 62 pounds and feeling amazing!!! Gabby was my absolute favorite nurse!!

Actually I think you were across the hall from us! Did you have a double room but no one was in the other bed and your bed near the window? last room on the right?

I didn't realize you both had surgery! How awesome! I think I'm going to the first support group in November. Online Support is great but i would love to talk to more of Doc grabers patients.

I get the feeling, from these forums, certain people believe they know what's best for everyone. It's a bit annoying, I'd have to agree. Give an opinion when it's asked for. I do notice, though, that they don't post their stats. Curious observation. My doc gave me a binder and it doesn't reflect their opinion in any way.

Congrats to you and your wife!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
