November surgeries?

Recommended Posts

Dont be nervous go into this very positive and the most positive results will be your outcome. Enjoy the process more its a beginning of a whole new life for you. And all of us really. I feel very extremely fortunate that my surgeon and his whole team have done everything for me. Before I even started out all the labs and what not they sent my referral from my PCP and got my approval and now monday I do my upper endoscopy then i get my surgery date. Im super excited! :)

I have been very lucky too. I live in Whittier, CA. I have had my upper GI. Tomorrow I have lab work and see a kidney specialist and on Tues I see a cardiologist. Then next appt is with surgeon on Nov 1 and surgery on Nov 19. Getting so excited. I have also lost some weight, so hope that helps.

I don't have my date yet, but I should have it in a week or so. I'm pretty sure it will be November. I just received my approval from the insurance today...it only took 6 days (and that is including the weekend!!).

Did they tell you right away? I had my upper GI, but have not heard anything. Thought I would find out at surgeon appt on Nov 1, but kidney specialist did approve me. So curious how you found out so soon?

 I am new to the site. I am scheduled Nov 5th. The hospital is 1 hr 40 mins away and my arrival time is 5:30 so I am checking into a hotel 2 weeks from today in order to settle in and start my bowel prep. I am really getting excited now after attending a pre op class and tour. I go in one week for my pre op visit with the surgeon, meet anesthesia, and meet with nutritionist again. I can't believe I am only 2 weeks away....

Well today I got my upper endoscopy they took samples for biopsy but the nurse when they were gettin ready to discharge me said everything looked good except for mild gastritis. When i have my results on the 28th I guess is when I find out if it will delay my surgery or not. If you did it you shoulf have got your results back within a week. That the time frame they gave me. So idk unless your gi doctor is majorly swamped or on vacation

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
