Don't feel like that. In 5 weeks your down a huge number. In 5 more weeks you could be down another 35! That would mean 70 lbs! 70lbs that are gone for good! . Don't go by other people. That's not fair to do to yourself. When we made this decision we knew it was far from a quick fix. It will come errrrr go... I promise

Im 4 weeks out and have only lost 20. I was excited until my story group last night. Some people who are the same time as me Were down 30. I wanted to cry. Then I remember I have not been at 280 in 6 years! I know I should do more, get more Protein, more Water etc. But I can't. The nausea stops me dead in my tracks, the random diarrhea makes me nervous to go out nevrrmind go to the gym. Also I have fOund doing A 600 calorie diet then av day or 2 og increaSing it had helped.

Kinsee: You are NOT doing anything wrong! I know you are discouraged, but please dont be! Everyone is different and you cant base your loss on what others are losing. I too got discouraged until I put the scale away. I would weigh myself on a day I was feeling really good, an find out I gained 2 pounds. Then I would get back on in a couple of days and the scale would be down 5 pounds! I varies week to week and you are not doing anything wrong. I still have the nausea and sometime have the liquid stools that keep me from doing things as well. I am not an exercise person and am now finally able to do so, but have not done much. Baby steps is what they keep telling me. I retain Fluid regardless of what I do so the doc has me on a low dose Water pill. Hang in there my friend, you are doing great and the pounds will be melting off before you know it!

Joy: I know it can be discouraging especially when you are following everything to the "T"! Depression is totally common which is why the doc did not take me off my antidepressant that I have been on for years, he said that my body is going through enough changes to add depression would no be good. You are doing everything right, just hang in there and the pounds will be flying off soon enough. Within my 1-2 month post op, I was yo-yo'ing as well with the weight and my doc said that is completely normal as my body is in "shock" to my system.

I wish you both nothing but the best of luck and I look forward to hearing that you are both down pounds from this last post. Keep me posted and you can ask me anything :)

Kim

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
