I don't get off work until 9 PM so I'm up until 2-3 sometimes 4 in the morning. Really don't have anything better to do and enjoy this forum. Congrats on your weight loss, you're doing terrific.

You are not alone. Even after WLS, my insomnia is just as bad. I feel tired all the time but cannot sleep to save my life. Been always like this, tho.

Wow I thought I was alone in this I stay up all night, & sleep 3or 4 hours at a time during the day. It's driving the hubby crazy, because he's alone during the day while I sleep. At night I go to bed with him till he falls asleep & then I get up & watch old movies & knit or do some other craft. Now I can jump on here &see who's up & about. Ok back to bed for some dad's see you in the early am hours. -_-

Does anyone take sleeping pills? Not prescription but just an over the counter. My sleep time is all screwed up and I'm starting a new job on Monday and need to be up at 6am. I haven't been going to bed until 2am. I'm two months out.

I've had minimal relief with melatonin. I've got ambien but makes me sluggish the next morning so I try not to take em too often.

Melatonin gives me horrible nightmares. And I agree with you with the ambien. I think I might take just one out of a two pack tonight and see how it goes.

I take 1/2 when I do take it.

I'm on a prescription sleeping aid, but since it's in pill form it isn't absorbed very well...perhaps you could try the new nyquil product that's made just for sleep. I believe it's in liquid form. I don't recall the name.

I take prescription BUT during the times I run out I do take unisome. It sucks most of the time but helps the other half. I do find benedryl works much much better.

Try valerian root. I warn you though it smells like dirty feet, but if you swallow it quickly it is ok. You can also find the non scented kind. Works a little better than melatonin. I have had insomnia for years and I rotate medication. Ambien, melatonin, and valerian root. They are on a mo they cycle and for the most part I sleep ok most nights.

Had insomnia before but it's truly worse now. Have been taking Benadryl since surgery. Have been trying melatonin and not really any relief. The last few nights have been up til 2 am and struggling to make it thru the day. Guess going back to Benadryl

I'm a 911 dispatcher and work third shift. I never sleep, but I found out taking a Xanax before I got to bed helps most of the time. I also have ambien which makes me feel dumb the next day, and malatonin which never works for me.

Xanax scares me due to the high potential for dependence. I use trazadone, but there are absorption issues since surgery. I was up at 1:00 am

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
