Hi everyone, newbie here... Started my WL journey back in Feb(for the second time-first time I had to put it on hold because my father became ill)-finished up my 5th month of my 6 month pre-op requirements yesterday... exceeded all my goals so far so it looks like its really gonna happen this time :-) and if all goes well should have surgery in oct....

Wow that's amazing. I thought we were having the surgery because we couldn't lose the weight. It looks like I'm gonna have to try the liquid diet sooner then I wanted.

I'm am down 7 lbs so far. But got some not so good new last week. The psychiatrist I saw in June wants me to see another psychiatrist to be evaluated for meds for OCD and binge eating prior to surgery. So I have to cancel my surgery date and set it back. I'm thinking I can do the surgery in December. I will find out tomorrow.

I had to reschedule my surgery. I'm really bummed. But it gives me a chance to correct my eating habits and lose more weight. Thank you for asking. How are things with you.

Im such an impatient person, lol... but Ive been thru it all once before (minus the actual surgery) and its just so repetitive... gained 5 lbs back of the 44 I had lost for pre-op so Im pissed... do you ind if I add you to my friends list???

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
