I know that feeling. I see my surgeon this coming week.

Has anybody else been suffering with severe nausea? I don't know whether its the pregnancy or the surgery or a combo but I can hardly stand it. I got a script for zofran but it doesn't really help.

Im 8 months post op. My nausea has been consistant for almost 2 weeks. Plus I'm so exhausted and I feel like I've gotten hit by a bus. Lol.

Has anything given u relief from the nausea?

Not really. Laying down helps a little but I cant do that all day.

At first zofran didn't work for me either. I think it was a combo of both. The baby will take what it needs in the first trimester so don't worry so much. At all my ultrasounds, my baby was growing great and is actually a little on the bigger side! I'm 25 weeks post op and 24 weeks pregnant.

Saw my surgeon today. He isn't worried at all and is very happy with my progress. I have to take 2 prenatal Vitamins a day now instead of one and I need to start eating more since I only eat 2 small meals a day. He wants me to do 3 with 2 Snacks. I'm just so scared of gaining weight!!!

So far in 25 weeks of pregnancy I've lost about 65 lbs and in the last 3 months, I've gained 4 back. But my baby has gained a whole pound in 30 days and my uterus has grown, so you have to factor that in as well. And I eat about 1500 cal/day and not the most healthiest foods either. I just walk for 30 mins a day and that seems to keep me on track.

I know I'm going to gain weight cause right now I'm less than 30 pounds from my goal. He just wants me to gain the "baby weight" I believe thats anywhere between 25-35 pounds and thats it. So we have a plan in place so I'm happy about that. Just gonna take it one day at a time and going to do the best I can to make sure we will both be fine.

i am 11 months out of surgery, and i am 28 weeks prego. i actually lost 10lbs and i am 20lbs from my goal. so my dr said as long as i eat i am fine , she didnt care about me gaining as long as baby is growing. so just dont starve yourself and stick to your diet you will be fine. but it will be very hard to stick to your diet bc more food will be easier to eat :( and further along in pregnancy you will be able to intake more food to. jerz and i just talked about that yesterday actually.

Don't worry about gaining weight , just remember to eat right...my situation when I got pregnant was different , I was morbidly obese and they didn't want me to gain anything and I didn't the whole 9 months...just made sure I was eating right and she came out 8 lbs and 2oz....so this was prior to me having the weight loss surgery but it can be done , eating right and not gaining

Thanks for your replies. Its helping so much. I just don't want to get off track. Being able to get pregnant was one of the main reasons why I had the surgery. Just didn't expect the fear of gaining weight with pregnancy. If my surgeon says that I will be absolutely fine if I follow my program then I need to suck it up and enjoy this :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
