Vicki Welcome don't know how many will reply who have had sleeve to bypass revision as haven't seen much chatting for a month. If you go to Forum on the upper left hand side and select Forums Home then scoll to the main heading called "main gastric bypass surgery forums" scoll down in that area to sub heading "Band to Gastric Bypass Revisions" and click on that, yes I know you are talking the sleeve. Once that populates scoll down and there is a forum Sleeve to Gastric Bypass revisions or something close to that. I noticed though most who have had this done are either communating in other forums now or not at all. There is nothing recent but there is some information, or stories that might be helpful. Hopefully someone who has had this done will respond who can answer any questions you might help. All use the search button as missmachine just posted "revision from sleeve to bypass". Hope this helps.

No, not at all. I was going for the sleeve first but when the surgeon read that I have dealt with and been medicated for years for Acid reflux, he immediately recommended the bypass because people who get the sleeve often have problems with heartburn so I am thankful he made that decision for me. I am fine with the bypass. From what I have read, sometimes people who get the sleeve ultimately move on for a second surgery which of course is the bypass.

I'm sure your not alone. I do sometimes feel that if gastric bypass been around longer that should had been the only surgery available cuz I see a lot of ppl reversing from sleeve or lap band to gastric bypass. They say you lose the most it helps with blood pressure and diabetic disappear. I think gastric bypass should be the only surgery available & no other simple cuz it's a permanent surgery & has more studies. If your gonna have WLS it's better the whole process then partial. When we decided to have WLS it's cuz we reach the end & we just can't do it anymore. You don't want to lose only 20 pounds. Sorry I just been thinking too much lately. This is only my opinion.

I totally agree with what you are saying that it has been around the longest, and I wish I would have done that first. It was my cardiologist that suggested the lapband when I suggested Weight Watchers. Believe he did that for #1 my age 67 at the time, #2 heart condition, #3 lung involvement and if it had to be reversed it could be. Instead the three years I had the band (which I never had a problem until it was discovered it slipped) I lost the necessary weight (50 lbs) that now I can get through the RNY surgery, with probably minor problems. When the band was removed I threw PVCs (very irregular heart beat) and my blood pressure dropped but at my age now 71 they expect that. None of my five doctors seem concerned. I might add had the band not slipped I wouldn't be doing RNY especially now that I am older, but have another 40 lbs to go and would like to get off the insulin pump and some if not all 21 other medications I have to take.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
