Food getting "stuck"

Recommended Posts

I have read a lot of posts from non-revision rny folks about throwing up and having food get stuck. Is this the same kind of thing that I experience nearly daily with my band? I don't want to live a life of getting stuck, sliming, and puking with rny....is it different????

I was constantly stuck, sliming, etc with my band...I've had 1 semi-sliming episode in 5 months with my RNY it was ice cream which used to do it with my band too.....so I think it's just me an ice cream. I have never been stuck with my RNY, I can eat plain chicken, beef, rice, bread, pasta....it all goes down without incident. Every once in a while I'll swallow sooner then I meant to and get a full sensation in my chest for 5-10 seconds but then it is gone....it's a whole different world!!!

I am only five weeks post op but can tell you it is totally different from the band. I eat better now just at five weeks in terms of food variety than I did at five years with the band. The only thing that has gotten stuck on me so far is reheated roast beef in the microwave. I am so pleased so far.

I had the revision 7 months ago and have never slimed, gotten stuck, or thrown up. Not once. It was constant with the band.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
