I'm 6 weeks out doing pretty good on getting about 60-80 grams a Protein a day I struggle more with getting 64oz of Water at least. I still get pulling pains on both my sides when I stand for longer then 5 mins. I'm also still pretty fatigued but since I had 2 surgeries in 2 weeks I'm blaming it on that.

Highest Weight: 511lbs Pre Surgery: 435lbs Current Weight: 397

Same here i'm so tired n staying nauseous. the dr. said yesterday on my first post op n got all 66 staples out, that it was from being under anesthesia for 7.1/2hrs. I can't seem to gain strength.

Wat is every body using for protein.. I am gaging drinking the "new whey" I shiver every time it goes down n days like today I've taken phenergan.

I understand about the Protein, but if I make a smoothie in the morning it seems to help start my day. I use some frozen fruits, whey protein with Greek yogurt and can usually get it about 6-8oz. It also is 42g of protein which is a great help. I've noticed that if I don't start out with it then I have a hard time getting my food down- just doesn't sit well.

So do you use just powder whey to make smoothies?

Ya I have some powders from Nector that I really like, they are 28g then with the Greek yogurt it bumps it up to 40g or more. I usually just add a little Water or you could do skim milk too. I use a variety of the frozen fruits. They work for me!

Great news - I'm going home today!

The meds for the ulcer seem to be working (still in some pain, but improving every day) and I'm able to both eat and drink again. Also my scores are up for the first time today, so it looks I will NOT need to be having a transfusion. My potassium is still low, so they have me on a supplement for a little while, but they think it will clear up once I'm eating more regularly.

Extra special for me - it's my 23rd wedding anniversary - so nice to be able to spend the day with hubby. It's also the first time I've felt even marginally better than I have since my surgery. Sure, I'm still tired, but I feel GREAT today!

Thanks for all of your support and prayers.

You can buy it online. But hyvee has individual packets for sale that are nice so you can see if you like them! My hyvee has it in the organic health section. I just tried strawberry kiwi and with my added fruit it was a little too sweet for me. But I really like the caribbean cooler one. Going to try the coffee tomorrow!

Oh no, New Whey is disgusting! It tastes like super sweet cough Syrup with added magnesium citrate :) I have shelf in the fridge full of this stuff, but I am shaking just thinking about it! :)

Had surgery July 16 and doing well. I can drink ice cold beverages again. Protein Shakes are NOT tolerated (I feel like I want to throw up drinking it).

Fried foods got me in this fat person position and I know I shouldnt eat it but I have. Good thing I have because since the surgery, my taste buds have changed and eating fried foods leaves a nasty aftertaste in my mouth!!!!! I can't believe I'm saying that I'm glad!!!!!

The only problem that I'm really having is laziness. I just don't want to go to the health club. Just dont feel like it. Its enough for to go to work all day and by the time I get home, I jump in the bed! I'm exhausted!!!!

I have my 6 week appointment coming up this week and hopefully the doctor will clear me to start back bowling. The leagues started at the beginning of August so I've missed a few weeks and I'm in 3 bowling leagues!!!!!! Once I'm cleared to bowl, my plan was to get a personal trainer at the health club and let him work my butt off and hopefully the tiredness I've been experiencing will go away.

As far eating - I'm still eating a couple of bites of food at a time. Walking away from it and waiting for 30 minutes so I can drink liquids. I can finally drink 64 ounces of Water per day. Not getting 60 g of Protein in but everything I eat, I make sure there is some kind of protein count in it.

I will probably lose more weight faster once I start working with this personal trainer so I'm looking forward to more weight loss. Clothes sizes - was at size 26, now wearing size 22!!!!!!!

I am right there with u. I get so sick trying to get the protein. My surgery was Aug. 6Th n I was a open cut. I just cant seem to get better. I stay nauseous n very weak n tired. I'm afraid i'm gonna get malnourished. There are to many pills to swallow, the weight is falling off but I can't exercise like I thought I was gonna do. Nothing has went like I thought except for losing weight.

But hopefully e will gain strength before to long.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
