Did you cheat?

Recommended Posts

Yup! The first week I allowed myself 1 or 2 boiled egg whites (pure Protein, minimal carbs) and raw veggies (celery and cucumber) (again, little to no carbs). I tried to cheat in a way that wouldn't Hinder my weight loss pre-op and the second week I was by the book. The first 4-5 days were the absolute worst, after that I felt more in control and slightly less miserable. Do your best to do your best! And try not to worry to much, you'll get through it. If you do have a bad day, pull yourself up, dust yourself off and start fresh the next day!

I have cheated twice once on the third day and once today. I think I am over it though and its not going to happen again. My surgery is June 26th I still have what ten days to go. I'm going to exercise and stick to my liquids. I need this surgery but it has been one of the hardest things ever to do!...

Has anyone ever cheated on their pre op diet and what did you eat??

I cheated 1x but I tried to justify it but still was guilty and didn't do it anymore. I had chicken broth with saltines crushed up in it. I thought...hmmm still liquid right? Pre op is rough no lie..at least the liquids post op u aren't starving for food like pre op

Post-op is SO much easier....there's no comparison. Not hard to not eat when you don't feel like youre starving to death! It does get boring but still was nothing compared to pre-op hell, at łeast for me :)

I am having my surgery Wednesday June 26 and my doctor did not put me on a pre op diet only rules diet rules are two days before surgery. Everywhere that I read people are on a pre op diet anywhere from 1-3 weeks and now I am wandering if this will affect my surgery. I guess we will see ..

This is my first day on my two week pre-op diet and all I can think about is eating. I'm thinking about just going to bed! Hope I get this under control soon.

I cheated. I had a food funeral!! I was 248 on my first doctor visit and 2 months later on DOS I was 252. But now I'm 220. It's so much easier post surgery.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
