Happy thanksgiving everyone! I know this day of gorging will be different for us, but if you feel as good about yourself as I do, losing out on not eating isn't even an issue.

I saw my parents for the first time since surgery and their reaction to my new look brought tears to my eyes! We have so much to be thankful for. Here is my list:

1. An amazing family that has supported me in this journey more than I ever imagined.

2. A new lease on life and a positive outlook for once.

3. Feeling more energized and healthier. I never thought this would happen.

4. Having had a smooth journey and recovery. I know not everyone has had an easy RNY experience that I have and I pray they recover quickly!

5. The new relationships I'm forming with my new found confidence!

I love reading your post, it makes my day and I'm thankful for that. I'm by myself so i didn't cook nothing, but I will go to Cracker Barrel or Denny's and I will have a slice of Turkey and a bite of stuffing and a bite of mash potatoes with some green Beans so I'm not doing without, I lost so far 120.2 lbs , I will spend Christmas with my Daughter In Chicago next month... Keep warm everyone!

Sooooooo I had pie..... And pumpkin roll.......... I feel guilty. I wish I dumped cause that would prevent me from eating it. Nothing but Protein Shakes and yogurt for the next two days. Then I have thanksgiving at my dads. Ugh... More food.

I think it's perfectly fine to indulge a bit. I had pumpkin pie too! But I had the tiniest sliver, which is a lot less than I use to eat. Now that we are well out from surgery I think it's all about learning how to live and eat in moderation. I enjoyed my thanksgiving and I ate more than I typically do since surgery, but I'm not going to punish myself with just Protein shakes. I still ate probably thousands of calories less than I use to and tomorrow I will get back to my normal eating. We can't beat ourselves up. That is a habit we need to break because it could lead to other bad habits. So don't worry! Live and be happy and just get back on track tomorrow!

Today was a good day. I had my family over for dinner, I cooked a wonderful meal, I ate a tiny amount and was satisfied and didnt feel sickly full afterwards. What a wonderful thing to not feel like I have to stuff myself silly. :)

Nothing is wrong with a bite of this and that! I had one bite of stuffing and it had a little bit of gravy on it and omg! it was sooo good had a bite of mash potatoes and of course I had turkey and ham but no pie but I did had a taste of cranberry just a taste on that I was afraid I might dump but I was full and ate about a 3/4 of a cup so I'm sure I'm in my range from what I totaled on calories it was about 800 for the day. And I got my Protein in.. No guilty feelings here

I too enjoyed my meal very much. I ate my Breakfast this morning and then had lunch / dinner combo. I had 6 oz of Turkey, and one tablespoon each of dressing and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed a sliver of pumpkin pie. I hit my Protein goal and got all my Water in. Unfortunately, I have to do it all again tomorrow!

I lost weight thanksgiving week!! I was down 1.5 lbs this morning. Grant it I cooked for thirty people but I ate what I wanted just in my 'fun sized' portions. That's what my nephew says about me that everything is fun sized. :) being 5'2" in a family where everyone is over 6' is interesting. My weight loss has certainly slowed but gosh if I can just keep it moving it will be good. Oh did I mention I wore size 12 petite (not womens) jeans at dinner yesterday? Im so thankful for this surgery!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
