That's really soon to eat something. I wouldn't risk it. I was supposed to move from liquids to puréed Friday and I had Refried Beans Thursday night so one meal early. I wouldn't risk it. If you need to chew something try ice.

I also moved myself to the next stage one night ahead (dinner) that was from puréed to soft food I ate a piece of chicken breast. I thought I chewed enough but since it was my first food in about 3 weeks or a month (don't remember) I did throw it up.

I wouldn't move ahead of schedule keep busy!!!

Good luck

Surgery date 7/25/12

I would not do it. You have to have time to heal (in the inside) it's not worth a complication or getting sick. Be strong! You can do this!!

Thanks for the support everyone! That's why I love this forum. I am passed the stage for the moment. I took a nap and woke up wanting my usual crystal light :)

I'm glad the moment passed for you. I'm 19 days out and in the beginning I was definitely hungry just like you. I wanted anything and I knew that u was truly hungry. However like you I would take a nap and that would help. Now I'm learning that if I drink a Protein shake it help tremendously with the hunger. So maybe that's something you could try. I know for me that helps at night as well. Good luck and hang in there.

I'm happy for you that you withstood the temptation. The fort to weeks of liquid only was by far the hardest for me. I had cravings and felt "hungry" all the time. You may laugh at me but at times I seriously wondered if my dr actually did the surgery lol. But I am 6 weeks post-op (3 weeks post bowel obstruction) and I now often have to force myself to eat. Hang in there!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
