I am 2 weeks post-op and I really would like to go in the spa...My incisions are glued...I heard something about taking a bath at 10days post-op, so I should be ok to go in the spa too, right?????

Call and ask the doc. My glue was gone in 10 days. I was told when the glue was all gone, I could swim, take a bath, and sit in a hot tub. ~Mandy

I was banded on 1/31. Spent yesterday alternating between the hot tub and sauna. Felt great except I wish that I would have taken a shower afterward. Last night I itched a lot in the area where they shaved me. I think the cause was the chlorine.

My doc told me 2 weeks for a bath/hot tub. Call the doctor's office as they will know what they prefer. Every doc is different.

I can feel your pain. I am one week post op, and heve not been in my spa for 14 days already (-30C too cold to tub). I am sure that it would do wonders for the gas pain I still have.

My Dr. said 2 weeks post op before bath tubs/hottubs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
