Scared I wont lose all my excess weight :(

Recommended Posts

Ok idk what is going on in my head but I am 6 weeks post op and down 37lbs and cant stop thinking that im not going to lose all the weight that i want to. My SW was 363lbs and i am now 326lbs ideally i would be 175lbs but i would be thrilled at 200lbs because i feel like thats more realistic but now im thinking their is NO way im gonna lose another 126lbs :(

Some days I feel like I am on track with my weight loss and others I feel like for my size its going slow and Ive even had people (family and friends) tell me thats it ??? when i tell them how much ive lost so far ...Anyone else go through this ?

Hi this to shall pass. Don't compare yourself to others on this board. We are all different. You will lose the weight just slowly. Look I'm 13 wks post op and I've lost 44 pds. You will get there

I am 4 weeks out & seem to be gaining weight. I'm still 50 pds down but can't seem to get past 375. I know it's frustrating but we'll get through it & lose what we want to.

Hang in there.

Have faith and persevere. Losing 3-4 lbs a weeks IS A LOT. If you were just dieting without surgery you would only lose about 1 lb a week. And remember 1 lb a weeks equals 52 lbs a year. So 3 lbs a week is 156 lbs. Melt off is a relative term.

And you are going to have stalls in weight loss, because you body goes into a panic over the rapid weight loss and tries to hold onto it stores as long as possible. Just be strong and stick to the plan. The weight will come off.

I feel the same way every day! We just have to use those thoughts as motivation to prove ourselves wrong!

Hey you will do it. I am 1 year out from surgery and had the same feelings as you. I lost 160 so far with 40 more to goal. I had the same fear as you.. Just stick to the plan and don't cheat and you will be fine.

Yep I'm just now slowing down on the weight loss. They said it would happen. Remember at some point you will slow down too. Eat a tsp of peanut butter/almond butter when it happens, for some reason it help get it back on track. Also DO NOT eat what you are not suppose to and you will loose it.

ok... I have been at this whole process for 15 months. No way I thought I would be where I am today. Started out at 340... now struggling to maintain 154. Dont want to be any smaller... dont want to look sickly. I was textbook case. No real issues except the mourning of food... I have followed the plan to a T. Not to say I didnt try no no things to see if my new pouch could handle it... 9 times out of 10 it couldn't... but work this new tool that you have and you will be successful.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
