Well, here I am with my date for surgery and it's a lot further away than I had hoped but scheduled nonetheless. My date is July 3rd, 2013. I have my PreOp class on June 18th. They gave me two dates in June but both coincided with my sister's pregnancy dates (baby shower and birth) and since my mom will be taking care of both of us (in two different states) I waited on mine until July. It's not as quick as I had hoped but I'm glad it's scheduled and I'm on my way :-)

I'm new here. I'm scheduled for surgery on the 24th and can hardly wait. I'm in my second week of Optifast (gack!) so I'm pretty cranky, but I'm not cheating darnit! I'd rather just be cranky <g>. (I'm really sensitive to aspartame so the optifast is triggering my migraines all the time).

Hi and welcome to our group! My surgery is 7/23 and I am also in my second week of optifast. I have felt nauseous a good amount oftimeso I am beyond ready to be done. I have not cheated either.

Finally scheduled for July 31st! Only have to do a 2 day liquid diet and go to a pre-op appointment the day before surgery. I do need some labwork done the week before' date=' but that's it!!![/quote']

Amen to that! Had my preop testing today and will see my surgeon for the final consult tomorrow. Gonna spend the rest of the week getting things ready at the house and work. I have lost 15 pounds so far. Hopefully my liver is nice and shrunk.

Surgery done! This hospital is unbeliably beautiful! Would u believe the rooms are all singles, wireless keyboard, can get on internet, monitor is my 36 inch flatscreen tv!!!!! This is great!!!

Surgery started at 2:45pm, got to recovery at 6:00pm, in my room at 9:00pm. A little problem during surgery. Scar tissue on small intestines from a 2007 hysteroctomy had many inches bunched up and the dr. spent 45 minutes untangling it. He told my husband this will prevent me from losing alot of weight but I will talk to him today to find out the details and exactly what this will mean. My hiatal hernia was so small, he decided not to remove it. I will find out why.

The only pain I'm having is chest pain sice I woke up from recovery. The morphine pump takes care of that!!! I didnt need drainage tubes at all!

Another problem I had, my veins were so bad, they couldnt start an IV until I got to surgery and they put it in my neck it didnt work, they had to try the other side and that worked ,and that hurt like hell and they intubated me while I was loopy from the happy juice but I still felt it and it hurt. But luckily that didnt last long cause when I opened my eyes again, I was in recovery.
