Recommended Posts

I am 3.5 days post-op heading home!!! I did end up with a shocker when I woke up from surgery I ended up with a gastric sleeve due to my liver being too fatty and this was a safer option but they made the poach the smallest banana they could...just cant wait to get home

Just got approved yesterday' date=' finally! It feels so much less stressful, knowing that I am really, seriously approved. I guess the third time (submitting documents to my insurance) was the charm :) No more insurance battles! I was originally hoping for a May surgery date, then I was postponed to June, & now July. The scheduler is going to call me on Weds with my date. Really, really hoping for a July date. If she says August, I think I might have to scream![/quote']

Finally scheduled for July 31st! Only have to do a 2 day liquid diet and go to a pre-op appointment the day before surgery. I do need some labwork done the week before, but that's it!!!

Wow! Did you sign papers for him to do a different procedure than what you signed up for? If not, that seems a bit fraudulent. I would gather most docs would have sewed you back up and made you wait until the liver shrank. I'm kinda shocked. I bet you were to!

If you weren't told about this before hand then he should either do a revision free of charge or maybe you should seek a lawyers advice. That's soo crazy

Ok it was the best choice for my body and for my life. I didnt tell anyone this so that I would cause an uproar . I told u so that you could see that the drs really do have the best interests in heart . So I can live with this decision. I want you to trust your drs

I guess that's a good attitude to have but if I had woken to an irreversible surgery I didn't sign up for I'd be pissed! Best of luck with your sleeve! I hope it works wonderfully for you! Get better soon!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
