The hunger you are experiencing is called head hunger. You are not actually hungry. The Brain has not caught to the surgery. Not sure what stage you are on, but my surgeon said the first couple of week staying hydrated was most important. Don't advance too quickly as you will find foods you will not eat again. eggs are not fun coming up - that is the food I advanced too quickly on.

Just remember head hunger is a strong advosary. It will play so many tricks on you.

I thought hey I got this liquid thing down I think I can advance. I have not been sick or had nausea I got this! Oh boy was I wrong. The eggs hit my stomach and my pouch said you damn fool I will show you.

About two weeks later I thought to my self man I really really want some turkey. I was on the puréed portion and thought well if I chew this enough I will be good. Same thing happened.

Thanks for the information. My surgery was May 27, I have lost 33 lbs. I try eggs and it hit my stomach like a rock. I have a problem with smells. I dumped for 3 hours after sitting around 2 restaurants. I crave salt, so I suck on chips every now and then. Is this normal? I'm overwhelmed and its only been a month. I need help!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
