HI lm Lekea and im in my early 30's I had GBS in October 2005 SW-315/ BWLS-308/ LW145. The first surgery in 2005 was done with no complications, everything was just fine weight did not start coming off until week3 maybe when I finally found some protein that I like. Looking back over the years I have gone thru soooo much with this surgery and the surgery being the least of my pain. Right after my surgery my husband could not deal with the new me and could not accept the fact that I was trying to make a move to make me feel better about myself he constantly derown himself with so many insecurities and I could not understand for the life of me. I tried to make it work he couldnt handle it, so we have been separated since January 2006. I can warn the newbies, and this may or may not affect you like it did me, but I have experienced lots of health issues, relationship issues, and trust issues that has really put a damper on my entire life since 10/05. I have severe vitamin deficiency and have been recently diagnosed with having Ankylosing Spondolitis A.S. after years of suffering with bone, back, spine, and body pains and constantly being told its all in my head and that I was depressed, I was finally diagnosed in November 2012. The pain is so intensed at times and my body flares up so bad that I have to rely on a wheelchair to get around, in addition to giving myself weekly injections in my stomach and thigh of humaria and that is the only thing to keep me from being able to get around. UNTIL.............................................................................................. This past May 6th I went in for a revision which I thought went pretty well until I got almost back to the house and started cramping and feeling wet, I look down and I was bleeding like crazy! my son put me in the wheelchair and got me in the house where several towels were soaked up in blood, it looked like a murder scene from 1st 48 it was so much that when the paramedics got here to the house they were just as nervous as I was, I started loosing consciousness and my blood pressure was like 70/43! So I was rushed to the er....the paramedics wrapped me up and the drs just kept me on pain meds for some reason I was in severe pain. Morphine was like water going in my veins--well besides the burning from such strong meds going in on my raw belly.. From what started out as out patient surgery ended up with me being admitted and stayed all week. Released on Friday the drs did nothing I was still in pain all day I was in pain (rating 8-10 NO JOKE) and all the dr would say is well I don't know what to tell you, you just had surgery and you are going to be in some pain and you are going to bleed a little. WTH?????????????? My mom, dad, sister and son that was right there when I lost all of that blood was just as stunned as I was but we went with it and I was released came home cried from being in so much pain, couldn't sleep and no one could understand what I was going thru I thought I was gonna loose it! So Home by Friday and Saturday I guess my family couldn't take it no more, so they called my dr and the dr on call was like bring her back up here she shouldn't be in that much pain as soon as he walked in the room to see me, he said we have to do surgery with this type f pain, it must be a blockage or something going on, we must find out. I went in surgery come to find out I was bleeding internally and my internal artries were covered with blood, so he rinsed off much as he could while he was in, well until the meds wore off and I woke up and told them I can feel what they were doing to me...........(smh) so long story short I was finally released after spending 8 painful days in the hospital. I came home the day after mothers day and had to wait until Thursday to get the drain or port (whatever you call it!) out of me. Again I had just had two surgeries back to back I didn't wanna be touched or hurt again, all I wanted was for them to put me to sleep and wake me up with that port out of me. Of course it did not work like that, I had to stand up and let him pull it out while taking deep breathin...............blankstare.......... right I stood up, I could not and would not sit or lay down at all.....I was scared as hell!! As soon as I came out I felt relief that it was out but im still a little sore and cant sleep that well at night. Week 3 Im out, Im feeling much better than before but I just stay hungry wanting to snack. I know I need more protein.
