One week to go to surgery :-), first week of liquid diet done! (not easy). Heading to Cleveland Clinic on 5/14 and so ready to begin my new life. Cleveland Clinic has been phenomenal and I feel I am in good hands. I was excited to see this app available for my tablet and find others who are taking this life changing journey. Family has been very supportive and shares in the excitement.

Good for you! I'm two weeks post surgery and doing great! I lost 20 lbs on liquids presurgery and another 11 so far. Its really rewarding so far...but hard to switch to just eating untilp full and not worrying about calories. I found great Protein Shots to drink so I'm not constantly sipping shakes. That's just what works for me. pureed food is going great...I'm tolerating everything really well.Hope your surgery and recovery goes great.

Well I did it and feeling pretty good this morning, just got my first sip of Water. The toughest part was taking my first walk last night, I sat in the chair for about an hour, the worst was getting back into bed, I am only 5 ft tall lol

Glad you're doing well...are you on the famous inflatable bariatric bed? I'm 5'10" and I could barely get into mine! Be well.

7 days rny post op. Did anyone else have horrible leg pain and light headedness at this point after surgery? Those are my main two issues now. Stomach hardly hurts now.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
