I am 2 weeks post op and eating, cheese chicken and eggs with no problem. But I am not sure how to start getting in enough Protein. Does anyone have any suggestions? I hv tried the unflavored Protein in Water and it is soooo gross!! Please help.

I mix the unflavored with sugar free crystal light (actually I get Wyler's as I buy it at Dollar General for a dollar a box) and mix with my Water. Also, I get sugar free Swiss Miss Hot chocolate, and mix that with water and unflavored protein, but you have to make sure your water isn't over 130 degree's. I measure the heat if I can put my finger in it.. By mixing with water you get your water intake and it still counts even if it is flavored, I actually don't drink water any other way. With hot chocolate you are getting a little more protein as there is powdered milk in it.

I mix unflavored Isopure powder into my drinks either with crystal light or hot tea. I also use New whey to supplement with. I use that because I can take 1oz shots for about 11 grams Protein each. You can find those at wal mart. In flavors like grape, fruit punch, orange.

I thought that the New Whey shots weren't allowed?

I do one Protein shake (usually in the morning) with 8 oz of milk, and that usually adds up to about 30 g of Protein, then one container of Fage 0% plain with some sugar free Syrup mixed in which is 18 grams. That makes 48 grams total and the rest is easy to get in with your meals. :)

I also use the Premiere Protein from costco. I mix the vanilla with some Caramel sugar free Syrup by Torani..it is awesome!! Taste like a milk shake from McDonald's...I also try to eat Greek yogurt each morning for Breakfast...I get the rest from foods throught the day....

I like nectar unflavored (powdered), I make up about 60g in the morning put it in the fridge, Protein tastes better cold :D, using this recipe: 1/2 cup milk 1 1/2 cups Water, 4 Tbsp No Sugar added Nesquick, or I use 2 cups Water and crystal lite (any flavor). I eat Breakfast lunch and dinner, and drink my shakes for a snack between meals.

Today I had peanutbutter toast (breakfast 7g protein), 8oz Protein shake (snack 30g premade Protein shake), 4 slices of turkey lunchmeat and an orange (lunch 8g protein), 8oz protein (snack 30g premade protein shake), and dinner with the family serving porkchop (deck of cards in size), broccoli 1/2 cup and a couple of bites of plain wheat rice (dinner 10g protein). So today I got about 85g protein.

My surgeons office actually recommends the New Whey shots.

There is a protein that has no flavor... It's 100% Soy isolate Protein... It honestly has no taste or smell... Someone said her surgeon said she needed whey. But I can't handle the whey.

You can get it at GNC. 25g of protein in 1 scoop

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
