Going On Vacation!!

Recommended Posts

OK I am going on Vacation beginning August 27th through Sept 7th and might not visit the site as much during that time. I will have my laptop with me but won't be on it too much. Oh and the 5th of Sept is my birthday so I am gonna Celebrate all night long in Jamaica. LOL!!

I am heading to Nashville, TN for the first 4 days to visit my Mom, daughter, grandkids and friends. Then a couple of my girl friends and I are heading to Montego Bay, Jamaica for a week. WHOO HOO!!

Pictures will follow when I get home.

I go to Jamaica at least twice a year, once with my girlfriend and once with my sweetie.

I am way overdue for this first trip, because I had band surgery in April, daughters wedding in June, revision surgery in July. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready for this vacation.

So off to see the RASTA MAN!! Or should I say MEN!!! LOLOL!!!!!!!

Yes, the leopard outfit is going with me. Yes, I will be in my bathing suit and show pics. I am not too proud. LOL!!! I might even get my hair braided while there. I did that one year and it was so much easier to take care of. LOL!! Too hot to deal with there.

Pics to come after my return.

Leatha: Load em up and come on down. Plenty of room on the island for us all.

Hey Penni, have a great time!! I'm right behind ya, going on vacation from the 28th through the 5th, but I won't have any computer access at all. (Oh NO!! How will I make it???)

What takes you to Jamaica so often? Do you or someone you know own property there? Or do you just love the Rasta men? :)

Alex: I go to Jamaica simply for the wonderful rest and relaxation. IT is so peaceful there and the scenery is so beautiful. The Rasta Men are nice too but that is not the reason I go. I have a sweetie back home. I started going there with my girlfriend about two years ago on a girls vacation. We had so much fun in the sun that we decided that once a year we should go back. We both go so often that we are looking at some property while we are there this time and seeing about purchasing something for a vacation time share thing. Would save us bunches of money on our travels there. LOL!!

Where are you headed on your vacation????? Inquiring minds want to know and all that stuff??

We're not going anyplace as hot and steamy as Jamaica in August, that's for sure! We're going to Cape Cod, where I've been going at least annually since 1983 to visit a college friend. THIS time, though, we finally decided to do it up right and are renting our own digs. Much as my friend loves me and my family, we couldn't as her to put all five of us up on her couch. :)

Five, I hear you ask? Yep, my 15 y.o. stepson will be joining us for the week. He's bigger than my husband and the girls adore him to pieces. This is actually going to work out to my advantage -- with both Peter and Michael for the girls to tortur...um, I mean, play with, I might get a little peace and quiet!

Alex, sounds like the perfect vacation for YOU! Plenty of time to "get lost". Peaceful walks on the beach, sunsets, sunrises. Ooh, I'm jealous of you, too!:)

OK one quick post before heading to catch the 10 am plane. I gotta leave at 8a here. Traffic is horrible from the Valley to LAX. SIGH!!

I know I have over packed but I DON'T care. LOL!! I have some really cute clothes and all in a size 16/18 and I am gonna flaunt them. LOL!! I got so excited the other day when I found a strapless bra in my size. I have been searching hi and lo for one. So I bought two of them. LOL!!

I ran out of room in my suitcase for some things so I had to get a bag for a carry on. UGH! I was so hoping to not have to carry anything on except my purse. Oh well. It isn't that much of an inconvenience though.

Will try to get online and post something tonight but might not. Heading to Nashville, TN first to visit family then off to Jamaica for a week.

Pics to follow.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
