compressors/girdles

Hi everyone ! Im new to this forum :) so i still have to get my endoscopy done and then my doc will set up a surgery date and im trying to get as much info as i can regarding the dreaded sagging skin :/ im 24 and everyone keeps telling me dont worry the skin will go back bc im so young..but i have alot of stretch marks so i dont believe it will be that easy, i can only wish ! But my question is what can i do after surgery so i can prevent it as much as possible ? I went to this one place and they sell post-op full body shapers ( faja salome ), this includes the arms (up to the elbow) and up to the knee...and it has a cut out around the boobs section...it also supposedly lifts your breasts and buttocks...only problem is that its costs 90 dollars !! and im dyinggg to buy it ! But what holds me back is that its not adjustable so as soon i lose the weight the girdle will be huge on me...and it will be a waste of money :/ so my question is, does anybody know of something similiar to this but that is wayyy cheaper...or something that is adjustable ? Or do you think i should buy this and see if i can sew it on the sewing machine to fit to my size ? ( lol i really dont want my money going to waste ) any ideas would be greatly apreciated ! I definetly want to avoid the sagging skin !also any creams that will help with this ?...... And not only that, i dont have insurance so i dont want to pay extra for skin removal. Thank you so much !

I know after liposuction they make you wear compression (girdle) type clothes. You are young so you should not have too much sagging but.....it also depends on how big you are/were. Your skin can only stretch so far, once you have stretched it to the point of no return you will have sagging no matter what. There is no cream, girdle, exercise that will make your skin not sag...unless you have sugery.

Hello & welcome to the group. I used all types of creams before having WLS it didn't work. Waste of time & money. Your age has nothing to do with how WLS will affect you. If your really big once you slim down 90 percent you will have saggy skin. Do exercise help? It makes you stronger feel good develop muscle but you will have saggy skin. I was 211 pounds saggy belly due to having 3 kids but my body was firm. I was a big woman but with the exception of my tummy I wasn't sagging. Had a huge butt breast. Big arms but solid arms. Now saggy butt my breast have no volume my thigh saggy arms saggy. Only my face didn't sag maybe age who knows I'm 34 years old. I'm having plastic surgery to fix everything I mention & it's expensive 35,000 I wanted to have it done by 2014 but looks like 2015 is my year. I will go back to exercise but nothing will make you avoid sagging skin. Once you lose volume & elastic only plastic surgery will fix it. I do where girdle Spanx to make me feel better & silicone panties cuz I have no ass now but that's me. Some ppl can deal & manage to live happy with saggy skin & others like me need to have surgery cuz there is no way I'm showing my saggy arms or wearing a bikini in this body. I feel nasty.

Hon, either you're elastic or you're not. Age and highest weight are a factor...I think. I can diet to a certain weight (16-18) and not have loose skin. When I go beyond that it's going to be anyones guess. I haven't been a size 10 since I was 22. I'm 38 now. So.

I do not know of where you can get a girdle like that....but I saved that for me once it's all over until I can have plastics. :) and I do appreciate it. I've been looking for one with arms!!!!!! I found it for 117 online. Shoot. BARGAIN

I went from 240 to 128 I have minimal sagging in my legs and I mean a little bit and none in my arms. However I've had three children and 3 c sections my stomach looks like a war zone. I wear a size 3-4 in jeans but if I had a tuck it would probably be a 0-2 bc in the 3-4's their baggy in my legs. I'm also five years out. I moisturized my skin a lot also but every body is different. I was n wlsg with a girl who had a washboard stomach after her wls. So it all depends. Don't waste ur money on gimmicks though k.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
