I wasn't taking them much until this evening because of the pain. Hurting pretty bad tonight, and was soooooo tired today. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

I am day 8

I was doing amazing until yesterday. I just felt totally drained yesterday and laid down a lot. Same thing today. I am very tired today. Yes, I have been getting all my protien & Fluids. But for me, I think I overdid it because I have been walking a lot and doing an arm workout (no weights).

Today is the 1st day that I just dont want to eat/drink.

My steri-strips have begun to fall off and 2 of my incisions needed bandaids. I dont want keloids.

Tomo is my 1st post-op.

I have lost 6 lbs in 8 days.BTW

Are you still taking your pain meds? Mine made me feel aweful. Once I have them up I felt like a million bucks

Caught up with your blog -

WOW what a different experience than me. My experience was perfect - dreamy - like a fairytail. And my recovery has been amazing until I just got sluggish yesterday. I had no prob getting in/out of cars, no probs at all in the bathroom nor with showering. Your husband sounds amazing. I am glad you have had his help. I have been 100% alone. I actually drove the day after I was released (no pain meds that day) and have been driving every day since.

I think my experience has been different from many - it's really weird. I had more pain when my gallbladder was remove din 2007 and I consider this surgery to be very similar. I think I am an oddball!!!

Oh and you wrote that you strain the noodle Soup because the brith is better - hmmmm I should try this but IDK how I will part with those noodles!! Right now I am drinking plain broth (unjury enhanced) and its "OK" but I bet what you do is 200X better!

I'm post op day #9 and had my 1st follow up - and came home and ate a SF chocolate pudding. I ate all of it within the hour (3.6 oz) and had no problem with it.

I am looking forward to some creamy Soups tomorrow, though not thrilled about straining them. I will though. I will not do anything wrong in this recovery.

If any of you recall, I had a perfect surgery and have had no pain etc.... well my Dr warned me today that my stomach might be numb and that I need to be extremely careful with all I put in it.... and I must MEASURE everything in ounze cups and NOT over do it. I have had no problem consuming 5-6 oz of Water in an hour. He doesn't want me doing that with food.

I don't have any appetite and the pudding wasn't all that thrilling - it was just nice to have something other than broth. lol

Hey! Sounds like your doing great. My surgery was the 15th of April. I'm down 34lbs. This week I'm slowing adding a variety of foods but still mainly soft. I can tell a huge difference in the way I look and feel. But everything is great on my end! :) just so glad the first month was over for me cause it was tough. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
