Feel like I've been missing out. I have been working like a mad woman and a kiddo with strep praying the germies didn't catch up to me. We are headed to Orlando for a few days to visit my hubby's family and just unwind before school starts. Worried about what I will eat as my in laws are like birds with meals and I'm worried I won't get my Protein in. Gonna hit a local grocery to stock some things up. They haven't really been aware I've lost weight so I can't wait to shock them!!

Just talked with the surgeon. Surgery went well. Cleaned up the knee, shaved off a bone growth about the the size of his thumb that was doing damage to her tendons.

Wow glad she did great. I'm sure that must have been painful.

The doc figures she must of chipped a bone off and it adhered and started to grow. She is a tough girl, she has high pain tolerance which always helps. But she just could not take no more when it was killing get to to jog and run.

I am having a bad day, actually having a bad week, lacking in willpower. I went to a back to school party with my kids on Saturday and brought a plate of food and dessert home for my husband....he did not touch it so I found myself nibbling at the cake. Ended up eating the whole small piece. I don't seem to dump on sugar. I have had several handfuls of popcorn (cheese popcorn) this week with no disastrous results. I just hate that it seems I am able to eat things I shouldn't. Of course, not the quantity, but hate that I even let some of these things cross my lips. My husband eats junk constantly, my 7 year old son is getting heavy and is always asking for food. He sees his dad get up from the dinner table and go straight to the pantry for a snack and of course he wants to have something too. At first, I did not feel it would be right for me to expect my family to eat the way I eat, but I am seeing my son get into some bad habits and I know I need to stop it now. Sorry to unload, just a little perplexed with it all.

I know how you feel. I always used food as my stress relief. I can't do that now. I have found myself snacking more than I should but I am trying to focus on positive things I do more than the negative ones. I find that if I focus on the fact that I had an extra snack today I want another one. However if I focus on the fact that I did a strong workout or I had plenty of Protein for a day. I don't want to snack. I also wanted my husband to get healthy. I don't know if it will work for you but I like myfitnesspal.com my husband was complaining about gaining weight so I made him a fitness pal account and showed him how many calories he was consuming every day. It became a challenge for him to stay under his daily calorie allowance and now we do that together. He has lost 15 pounds in 5 weeks and is exercising 3-4 days a week. With this he is encouraging my step daughter to exercise and eat healthy. Plus I don't put unhealthy foods in the house. Good luck

I haven't posted in a while but looking for advise/help. I had surgery April 1 and I've lost 45lbs so far. I'm feeling great. Since surgery I haven't felt any hunger or cravings for food which is normal but the last two days it kicked in. I notice I'm hungry again and wanting to eat everything. I track everything I eat and drink but notice I can eat a little more than I have been. For example I used to eat half a smart one meal but now I can eat most of it. Is this normal? I'm afraid I could be eating too much and stretching my stomach out.

My nutritionist last week told me it was normal about the start to freak out cause eating a bit more. I noticed it too but as long as it not copious amounts to expect the appetite to pick up a bit. I just also got the sensation back where I feel like I could eat. Pms time..last week..I could have ate the paint off the wall!!

Lol, thanks. It's been a blessing and curse not having an appetite so to be getting it back is so scary. I just keep thinking of everything I've learn from the classes and meetings but so scared to go back to any old unhealthy habits.

So I raided my Inlaws fridge. We got here really too late to head to any store and she ordered pizza for dinner so I scrapped some toppings off and tonight I truly felt hungry and found some ham and a wedge of laughing cow cheese. Needless to say they were shocked by me as they haven't saw me in a yr. my mother in law asked me when did I get so skinny lol great feeling cause I have never gotten a compliment from her!!! Planning out a list and hoping all goes well on this trip. Up wide awake again tonight..insomnia already plagues me and I rarely sleep when I'm not home..guess gonna try to buy Benadryl while our tomorrow as well.

You are braver than I. I am terrified to eat anything that may make me dump. I did dump off of Cereal once that had too much sugar. I thought I was eating the regular raisin bran but had the cinnamon one which had a ton of sugar. It was a horrible experience and I don't want to do that again. I am glad to know that I will dump as that makes me avoid things. I am sorry you are having a rough time with eating. Try fo focus on why you wanted the surgery and what you want the outcome to be. Maybe this will help you stay away from those things that trigger you. I would talk to your husband about setting a better example for your son. You dont want him to have to deal with being overweight his whole life like we were. We know how tough it is to live that way, both physically and mentally. My son is 22 and is almost ready to have the surgery himself. He has one more surgeon appointment next week and then has met the required things. I truely wish I would have been a better example for him when he was younger and had been healthier myself for him. I feel that I failed him by not making sure he ate better and exercised more. He was always big and a football player, but he really had a problem with food. I always thought he would outgrow it and change when he was ready. I wish I had been better educated about weight and healthy eating years ago but it is never too late and we are making this change together now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
