  1. My weight loss sparked my husband to start his own weight loss plan. As I am very proud of him he is losing weight faster than I am. I lose every week but only one pound at a time for the last 3 weeks. It's making me crazy. We are both using the my fitness pal app he has lost 18 pounds in 5 weeks. I have lost 83 pounds since surgery April 8 and with the pre op diet I lost 17 so woo hoo I hit the 100 pound weight loss. However I still have a way to go to reach my goal. I told my husband today that he was going to catch up too me if I don't get out of this rut I feel like I'm in. I kicked up my exercise today so maybe that will help. Any other suggestions. I guess I could start adding extra calories to the food I cook for my husband. Just kidding I would never do that.
  2. I also found natures path granola with pumpkin seeds and flax I add it to my cottage cheese. It's delicious and it has helped a lot with constipation.

  4. Is any one else feeling fatigued after what seems like slight exertion. I have had to take a nap everyday. I go to sleep at night at a reasonable hour. I get up at 8 am most mornings. I am 2 weeks post op. I figured by now I would be over taking naps.
  5. I made a crab bisque tonite that was tasty 1 cup skim milk 1 bottle clam juice 1 cup imitation crab meat chopped as fine as you can make it Salt, pepper, and old bay to taste Heat all ingredients to 125 degrees then add 1 scoop of unjury protein powder cheese flavor. 4 servings with: 55.1 calories 0.9 g fat 4.8 g carbs 7.5 g protein It was very good
  6. I just started on puréed foods today. I was just trying something new and made some mean seafood salad. I used 1/2 cup of imitation crab meat, 3 tbs miracle whip, dash Worcester sauce, salt & pepper to taste and a dash of old bay. I had to add a medicine cup of Water just to blend it. Puréed in my magic bullet. 2 servings I made a serving 1/4 cup since. Even if not on a puréed diet this could be served on toast or crackers. It was yummy! 192 calories 6.6 g fat 3.5 g carbs 4 g Protein I hope someone else will enjoy this.
  7. It was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth after the clear liquids.

  9. Finally diet advanced to puréed foods from clear liquids. The first thing I have had in a week that I couldn't see thru. It's a hard boiled egg chopped up fine in my magic bullet. Tis is the best thing I have ever eaten. Lol. I wish I felt like exercising. I am still on the losers bench down 37.2 pounds. But I know I have to start exercising soon. I am feel that by finally advancing my diet to more than clear liquids maybe I will get some energy back. Good luck to everyone
  10. I have had bad pain on my right side the last couple of nights but one night I took an antibiotic capsule and I think it got stuck. The next night I diluted the contents of the capsule in Water and orange juice. I guess that was what they call dumping syndrome. I felt like someone was stabbing my right side below my ribs with a knife. I wanted to vomit and I had runny diarrhea. But today I have avoided those things and I seem to be doing just fine. I am sorry to here that your are hurting. I hope you feel better. My biggest complaint now is gas pains.
  11. I am 5 days post op. I am on all clear liquid diet until my follow up appointment next week. Not hungry which is weird for me. It seems strange when its meal time for me not to cook for myself and my husband and too eat. My biggest complaint is that I am having belly pain that I can only explain as gas pain. I am passing gas but not enough I guess. Can anyone tell me is it ok to use gas drops? I bought some infants gas drops I just don't know if its ok. Also I was down 26 pounds the day of surgery not sure where I am now, but I'll find out next week. I haven't started weighing myself at home it's kind of a nice surprise when I go to the doctors office to actually of list weight instead of gaining every time.
  12. I am in pain. I am very tired all the time and i have a headache that wont go away. I am sure this gets better.
  13. I am scheduled for April 8. I am very nervous. I am a nurse so I feel like I know too much. I have always been the one providing the care now I will have to be on the other side of the bed. I am very nervous. My poor husband he is trying but I have been so cranky with him, I can't help it. I know that I'm being irrational most of the time because I'm scared. Also to add to the stress my brother in law has moved in with us. And my mother is having heart problems. My normal coping mechanism is to eat everything in sight but I'm on the blasted pre op diet. Any advise?
  14. I am on week one of the liquid diet. My doctor only requires 1 week but I thought if 1 week was good 2 weeks would be great. I can only have 800 calories so that's about 3 shakes a day. I am on day 4 I am so hungry. I want to eat everything in sight. I am struggling bad tonite. I saw that someone wrote they only had to have 4 incisions instead of 5 I should use that as my motivation. This is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I know that the end result will be my life back. However right now all I can see is all the foods that I can't eat. My surgery date is April 8.
