I made it to 50 pounds today! 51 actually. It was my first goal that I set to meet. What a relief ...the last 2-3 weeks I was only losing about a pound a week. I was worried that it wouldn't pick up again. I want to start working out but I'm in pain. My doc says my back and hip pain is due to my body readjusting to how it carries itself. Once I can work out I hope to pick up the weight loss pace again. Has this pain been a problem for anyone else?

Hello!! I haven't posted in quite some time. I've been following along though for the most part and would like to say that each of you are an inspiration and I'm so glad I found This RNY thread.

Well I had my surgery April 8th, I weighed 301 that day and today I weigh 259. I am in a size 18--down from a 26 in under 3 months!! This journey has been almost surreal so far. It was so hard for me to "let go" of my BFF - food, at first. As time passed that got easier and my relationship with food has changed drastically. I am not getting in enough Protein daily. Are you guys still supplementing Protein Shakes and what not to get in enough daily? I am taking my Vitamins but having trouble finding calcium citrate that I can actually tolerate. Any suggestions? I need 1800 mg per day.

Another side of my story is that I did the surgery and I'm working towards my goal and my other goal was to get back into school, which I am this August for the fall semester. I am struggling though with my husband. He's not willing to change with me. He's perfectly content on how life is currently and I am not. We both have MAJOR things to change and work on and he is flat out refusing to change anything. We are currently looking at separating possibly. He will not do counseling. I don't know what to do other than to keep improving myself and maybe, just maybe he'll start to get the hint to change some of his things. I'm hopeful. Thanks for listening and thanks for this awesome group!!

The pics are from pre op and current. I will also post a pic of my pup like you guys were doing. I need to show him off!!

I am about to throw my scale away!!! I feel like all this work and the surgery is for nothing. 40lbs is what I have always been able to lose with every yo yo diet. I work out, I hardly eat, I increased my Protein, drink lots of Water, & take all my Vitamins and still haven't lost anything!!! I am so discouraged!! I thought this surgery was supposed to help me lose 100lbs. Then why have I been stuck at 40 for the last 3 weeks? I feel like I just look away my love of food for nothing!

Thanks, as do u!! Its funny how when u look in a mirror u don't really see a difference (well in my case anyways lol) but when u pic compare side by side...mind blowing!

I do find myself more "soft" tho if that makes sense. Body feels more jiggly lol

Hang in there Candi!! From reading the forums here I've learned it happens to a lot of us. I too had a three week stall and it sucked. I now only get on the scale once every 7-10 days. It will start falling off before u know it. Patience plays a big part of this and it gets frustrating at times. It'll happen tho Candi :)

Honey we all are. I have the same fear and get so bent out of shape thinking about all I've given up..the pain of the surgery..and the times I've felt so sick or vomited and if I don't lose anymore..I've felt like omg what have I done!?! All that and not to lose. It's pretty norm from what I can tell that alot of us feel this way. I did lose down 1lb today and that's it in 2 weeks but that's one less than I was. I feel discouraged when I see people dropping these massive amounts so fast and I've lost just 33lb since my surgery 4/30. I know it's not alot but I guess my body is slowly adapting. I was very depressed last week with no weight loss and having that time of the month. We are here if u need to vent and talk..and I do the same..vent! Good luck

My non surgery friends/fam just don't understand. They keep saying make sure you eat 1500 calories. Your body is starving its self. Do this, do that.... 1500 calories! Whatever. I am lucky to get 700 in. It takes me 2 hours to drink a 150 cal 11 Oz Protein Shake.

I was 226 yesterday and did not eat a lot, but I drank five bottles of water... I weighed myself this morning and was 230. How did I go up 4lbs? Very discouraging.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
