Going to see my surgeon today and a bit excited and nervous! Was down exactly 30lbs this morning and started giggling like a schoolgirl. Hoping my sleep apnea is improving as I'm now getting awakened by the pressure.

Yikes! I am 10 weeks post-op and my hair just started coming out. :-( I was hoping I would be one of the lucky ones and not have the Hair loss. I started taking all my Vitamins plus Biotin 2 weeks before surgery in the hopes of keeping it all. Guess there is no way around this. :-(

OMG, I'd better start taking my Biotin. I keep forgetting it is in the cabinet. I am almost 7 weeks out. I didn't realize the hair started coming out so soon!

Today I got from my Avon rep a dress I ordered (on clearance) in a size 1X. Took it home, tried it on and it fit beautifully! I used to wear 3X, sometimes 2X depending on the cut, but 1X I hadn't been able to wear in at least 8 years. Such a great feeling. :)

I was a slow loser until the past week when I started losing about a pound a day. *Finally* at 32 lbs now at 9 weeks out. I started weight training all over again two days ago and am sore but feeling good from it. Today is my rest day and I know I'm retaining some extra Water weight so I'm gonna try not to freak when I step on the scale. Lol

Good luck at your appointment.

Thank u! I've lost 35% of my weight now. He was very excited and also found out why I probably passed out..and have had some other episodes..apparently I am not eating enough. Never in my life have I been told that one!!!! I'm not eating enough and not having adequate amount carbs. I have pretty much been very strict low carb and they think my blood sugar is bottoming out. I ended up seeing the nutritionist and she told me not to count calories and I didn't have a certain amount I had to stay under she was wanting me to get more in actually and told me to not look on my sugar amount when I eat yogurt. I was insulin resistant before surg so now it looks like my glucose is prob too low. The fatigue should improve as well with some carbs. So..there it is. This fat girl got told to eat more!!!!

Avg anywhere from 300-500 and mainly lean meat and veggies. I use my fitness pal so I could actually show her. I thought amount wise I was volume eating too much!

Having a down day and need to vent. Have a lot of pain in leg and back today. Needing more pain meds and not getting relief. Am also fighting to get my long term disability. Short term is done and haven't recieved any money for 4 weeks. What about a spine surgeon saying I need surgery, and a pain management doctor saying that I can't work due to the slippage don't they f'ing understand!!??? I am getting the, "we need notes" and blah, blah, blah! How hard is it?? My daughters grad party is in 3 weeks and without a check, I'm gonna have to cancel. I have used our savings in the last six months due to being out of work, and only getting 65% for short term. This added money stress doesn't help the healing and pain issues, and the up'ed pain meds doesn't help the depression. Even the HR lady at work said I should for sure qualify due to the severity of my back. All of this is getting so old, and I'm at the end of my rope!

That's horrible! I had this gastric bypass on the advice of my pain management Dr. Doesn't Metlife get it? I have serious back issues. Serious enough that I had this life changing surgery to try to help the pain! Come on already!

Sorry to hear that. I'm not always the best with advice but I'm a good listener. I do think you a great inspiration 4 wk without money is tough but the whole time you have always been so uplifting on here. I will pray that a blessing comes your way especially in time for your daughter's grad party.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
