How do eggs affect you post-op? Tried them for the first time this morning and I am burping like crazy! (Tmi, I know) Is this normal, or are eggs just a food I may have to avoid?

It's weird I can eat an egg fried but if it's scrambled or like an omelette it gets stuck.

eggs have lots of Protein so they are good for you. Different people expierece different things... I would give the eggs a break and then revisit it a few weeks. You body goes thru sooooo many changes after surgery.

I have such a hard time with eggs. I can eat all my foods in their portions as I'm supposed to but I can't eat a whole soft or hard boiled egg. I get beyond full. I have to eat super slow and pay attention to my fullness if I don't lord knows I'm in such pains discomfort. It's almost down to a science of one spoon full left. But again I can eat my chicken shrimp fish like no problem.

I do experience the burping too with eggs. I don't get how an egg fills me up like that.

I eat lots of eggs daily. Have had no issues. Everyone is different. I know that if you are not feeling well, get nauseated after eating a certain food that you should stop eating but try again a few weeks later. Eggs are a great Protein source

Thanks, glad I'm not alone. I think it's just me having to get used to bite size and quantity since this is just my first full day on soft foods. Never got nauseous, just overfull I think.

Try egg whites much more easy on the digestion. Very moist.

I eat them all the time with no issue. They're sort of a heavy food for me though. I've heard people are one way or the other with eggs, like how it's a 50/50 shot that you'll be lactose intolerant after

I think I'm having an intolerance to eggs strangely only if scrambled. My GI system becomes super grumbly loud, gassy (from both ends), and diarrhea. I once pan fried an egg and don't recall having this trouble. Even weirder is that one scrambled egg was "real" the other was Egg Beater. I think I'm just going to back off eggs for a while.

Scrambled eggs are the hardest for you to digest. So maybe just cut out the scrambled. Try hard boiled eggs, but remember the yolk will raise your cholesterol so you might limit the yolks.

Scrambled eggs have been my go to food I have been eating them since 3 weeks out. It amazes me just how different each of us are with what we tolerate and don't tolerate. I am thankful eggs don't bother me.

I just could never digest eggs!!! I would eat and feel instantly sick like I was going to vomit right away. I'm 9 months out and I still can't eat them. I can tolerate egg white omelette with lots of veggies.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
