My surgery date was Jan. 24 2013 and I have only lost 35 pounds! The last three weeks I have worked out five days a week! Of course I can not eat much at all I do not know what is going on I feel like the weight should be coming off faster?

I had surgery on January 23rd and am down 32 lbs. I just had me 6 week visit and the dr said I am doing great. I asked what the goal is normally as I have stalled and they said that in the first 6 weeks they look to hit 25 to 35 and they ate pleased where I am. A few of the people I had surgery with are at the same spot.

They told me to shake up some of the woods so your body doesn't get used to it.

Good luck

You will stall out and it will likely stall again. Most people experience it around weeks 3-4 and then again within the first 6 months. I stalled for about 2 weeks when I was a month out, it certainly is frustrating, but like everyone says, you're probably still losing inches. Do your clothes fit differently?

I'm experiencing another stall, I've been hovering around the same pound or 2 for about a week and a half now, but I know my body is still changing because pants that I wore fine last week are falling off today (which is frustrating and awesome at the same time.)

Don't get too bummed, the scale will move. Just keep doing what you're supposed to and you'll see it in due time. And if nothing else, just remember it happens to all of us :)

You are doing great. That is over 5 pounds a week. Could you have done that without surgery??? I had surgery the same day as you and I have lost 33 pounds. I had a doctors appointment on Tuesday and he was very happy with my progress and upped me to regular food (including raw veggies and salad). You just need to be patient and keep doing what you are doing. I know it is hard as I would love to have lost more but I know what struggles I have had the last 7 years and am happy to finally be where i am today. I also know that good things are still coming my way and am very excited about where I will be this summer. Hang in there... :)

I should also add are you measuring yourself?? We often lose inches when the scale isn't moving and if you are exercising 5 days a week you are building muscle...which weighs more..

Thanks girls I needed to hear this! I guess I just keep seeing these stories of women losing like crazy the first couple of months and I feel like I should be losing more myself I still have the fear of failing. But my clothes are big on me and I haven't bought anymore yet that actually fit so I am not sure how loose they have really gotten in the past couple of weeks. I need to measure myself though I haven't thought of that! Thanks again!

I know how you feel. My surgery was 1/29/13 and have only lost 22.2 pounds. I start to feel great, then find myself comparing and wondering what I am doing wrong.

Stop comparing yourself to what you think it should be. Go and pick up something that weighs the amount youve list and you will see. Your resultsvare fantastic. Everyone always says...ive only lost blah blah amount. Just remember thete are others who read these that may have only lost a lit less than you and now they feel worse because someone else is not happy with double their amount. Be thankful that this is a journey and not a race. Think.of the old tortoise and hare story.

You are doing awesome on losing weight 1 less pound is a small step towards a bigger goal that ultimately only you can determine or measure up to. Everyone loses weight at a different pace and the surgery is meant as a tool in general there is no right or wrong in how much you lose or how fast you lose. The basic guideline is to eat right, exercise, and forgot about weighing yourself so often because some people get discouraged. I'm 6 weeks out I had surgery 1-21-13 started at

368 almost 369 and down to 320 and the lady I had surgery the same day we both had lost 22 lbs within 5 days post op so just keep pushing remember the only loser in this journey is the weight not us ..... Keep up the good work

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
